Cloth Diapering

I'm not calling it a diet...

I'm calling it a conscious avoidance of gluttony.  I went out with a bang last night and ate my weight in pasta bolognese and ice cream!

Yay for conscious avoidance of gluttony! That's always my struggle. I've always tended to eat good things, just too many of them. I'm trying to keep my weight in check in the final stages of pregnancy, but it's proving to be harder now that I've reached this stage:

I gained 1/3 of my pregnancy weight in the last four weeks.  I was soooooo hungry at the end!

  • Have you guys seen this?  I'm thinking about doing it. You place a bet on the amount of weight you want to lose and the time it will take.  Then you win money at the end if you do it.

  • Stoney, I'm in the same boat. I told dh not to bring me any sweets. Jerk still has and he knows I can't say no. But I am slowly  making progress....

    Whaaat? How? And how much??
Check out the website.  You can totally customize it to yourself and then I think they send you a quote on your prize money.
  • I have heard of this! I'd totally do if if I were at the start of post preg weight loss. I only have 3-5# left to go though, so I doubt it'd be worth it for me. I think the minimum time frame is 6 months too. If I can't lose 5 lbs in 6 months then I don't deserve any money.

    LLOL.  All right...screenname terms.
  • Sorry Stoney, I'll be sure to refer to you by your screen name from now on.  I've just spent all morning highjacking other people's posts to talk to certain people that responded in the post.  Mostly @mapleme.  I'm stalking her this morning, don't tell her.

  • Don't worry @TJ1979, I'll keep it on the down low.
  • Between week 12 and week 26, I gained less than one pound a week. Between weeks 26 and 27, I gained five pounds. My blood pressure was elevated for three weeks. That led to my first round of bed rest, a trip to L&D, and a 24 hour urine catch. I really tried to keep my diet under control after that.

Oh my gosh... I HATE the 24 hr urine catch! It's so awkward having to walk back through the hospital to the lab with a jug of urine. Plus, we almost always end up with friends asking us to hang out on the day I'm doing it, and I end up being all "umm... sorry, I have to stay home so I can keep all my pee".

I had to do a urine catch at work. Thankfully I had a small bathroom attached yo my classroom, but it was still pretty awkward. I had to make sure the kids left the cooler (with jug in it) alone all day. Then we had Field Day a few days later, and I had to assure my aides that no pee ever touched yo cooler and that anyway cleaned it anyway.

  • Stoney what's your plan for losing the weight?
I am trying to increase my exercise and eat better. So far today I've walked/jogged on the treadmill and now I'm trying to sneak in some exercise with weights.  I need to lose 40+ lbs or quite a few inches...

My plan is literally to be less of a glutton.  Ever since I stopped having to follow the MSPI diet, I've been eating everything in sight like it's my God given right.  I'm just gonna stop that now.  LOL

Do what ever will motivate you. For me that was joining a pretty expensive group personal training gym. I will not pay that much money for something that I don't use. My old gym was just a fat tax but this is enough that my cheap self will not let that happen. Also if i eat crap i have to do burpees and burpees suck. Twenty two pounds down 30 to go.

Good god, those are the best!

ETA: the only way I control myself is by not buying them. DH is allergic to chocolate, which means I KNOW I would be the one eating the whooooole bag. That usually stops me in my tracks. Same things with Oreos.
