2 days ago a specialist read two body cavity U/S and told me my dog has stage 4 lymphoma and is going to most likely die. His vet looked at me before starting conventional chemo and said, "I want you to understand this is day by day, the chance is there but very small."
2 days ago my dog wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, wouldn't interact with me, and could barely breath.
Today there is no evidence of the tennis sized ball tumors that were under his neck or the grapefruit sized one that was blocking his bowels, he is eating again, he is urinating, defecating, drinking again, he is following me around the house. His breathing is at a normal pace and unlabored! Miracles happen!!!!! Even his vet is floored!!!
Some of you wonder why I am so nuts about this dog? He's amazing, he's a fighter. He impresses everyone who meets him ( even the emergency workers were asking me questions about him the morning). This is why I have spent thousands of dollars that I don't have, given up hours of free time to care for and keep appointments and written flammable "pupdates". Thank you for your prayers!!!!
Re: Miracles CAN Happen (a lil long)
I'm glad things are looking up. ??
aww congrats
When are you testing?
That is awesome news! Pets are such an important part of families and people who don't have a pet have a hard time understanding that. I would do the same thing for my dog and 2 cats!
I hope this is the start of a chain of good news for you.
TTC #1 since 7/08 After 3 years, 2 losses, 3 rounds of IUI, and one round of IVF, we finally have our dream come true! DS born 7/30/11
TTC #2 off and on since 7/12
We spent 2000 on our little kitten who didn't make it and didn't even think twice when our pup was sick and we had to spend 4000. They were part of our family and I couldn't even think about not giving my all for them. Sure I would love to have the money back, but my animals are all worth it. You totally did the right thing and I am glad your pup is feeling better today. Tell him to keep it up!
Pup made it by the way. She is healthier than ever!
Sorry about your kitten but I'm glad your dog made it. What was wrong if you don't mind my asking?

First our kitten had a horrible parasite from the no kill shelter when we got her and she was only 3/4 of a pound so she had a hard time fighting it. We spent most of the money on that. We basically spent most nights at the emergency clinic getting her fluid and she survived. Then not 3 weeks later she started acting funny and we took her to the vet. They did exploratory surgery and found her abdomen was full of cancer. It was totally out of the blue, but the vet said she probably had cancer when she was born. We put her to sleep because we knew she couldn't fight anymore. She was just too weak and small.
Our dog had a lump on her neck so we took her in and they were pretty sure it was cancer so they did radical surgery. It turned out not to be cancer after they sent the lump off to be tested, but she had trouble healing from the surgery and had to have 2 more so she would heal. We ended up having to take her to Ohio State and they fixed where she wasn't healing and then had to leave her neck open for a week so it could heal from the bottom up and then keep her another week with a tube that flushed fluid from her wound.
It was a nighmare! A lot of bad luck too. We are just thankful she is alright now.
Sorry this was super long!
