CD3 appointment today. I've got follies. Yay. Got my follistim. (Side note- damn that's a big needle for someone terrified of needles). Got new labs done & other meds picked up. IUI should be the end of next week or over weekend, curing my fear of it happening Wednesday. 75 of Follistim til Monday, then "we'll see." Praying I don't turn into more of a psycho than I already am....

@Rumbera28‌ - yes, it's a skinny needle. It just looks so long!

The only thing that I thought was odd, is I see a lot of you ladies talking about "beta test." I've gathered that it's a pregnancy test, by the doctor. When I asked my dr about what happens after IUI, he said you wait 2 weeks, then take a pregnancy test. I found this to be odd, only because I've seen you ladies talk about the beta so often... I'm also a bit confused about testing out the trigger that I've heard mentioned. He also didn't mention this. Now I'm mildly confused.

@Rumbera28‌ - good info. Good info, thank-you!!! So, hypothetically, if one IS in fact pregnant, if you're testing out the trigger (mine is Ovidrel- which I am guessing is really common) the test would never go negative, but remain positive? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm OCD & anal about stuff too. Do you use a particular test, cause that could get spendy?

My doctor has me just do a home test too and all in if it's positive. I'm not sure what happens after that since that hasn't to me yet LOL!

My dr doesn't do betas either. I'm sure they would if I asked but it cost me about $56 so I just pee on a stick. They tell me to wait until 14 days and if it's positive then I get a beta.

I highly recommend testing out the beta, last cycle I didn't because I was on vacation and at 7dpo I started testing because I had strong pregnancy symptoms. Of course I had positives but I didn't know if it was the trigger or I was preg. So for 1 week I starred at positive and neg preg test every day. Finally they did a beta and I was preg but miscarrying. Never again will I not test out my trigger.

The shots aren't bad at all, I usually can't even feel them. Good luck!

I thought the same thing about the needle, but barely felt it when I actually did it. Im glad your first injection went well!

Glad your injection went well! One more thing about testing out your trigger- mine took 12 DAYS to go away completely (I still had a faint positive on day 11). Believe me, every morning after I took a test and got a faint positive I immediately googled "9 days post Ovidrel positive HPT" and so on. I've only done one cycle with trigger so far. Like everyone says, it is worth it to know it's the trigger (until it's real!)!

Just wanted to say good luck!!  My doctor doesn't do betas unless I get a BFP at home first.  Makes sense because, why waste the money?  HPTs are very reliable, especially once it's positive.

I'm doing injects on my next cycle - not scared of needles but not exactly thrilled about giving myself shots either so we'll see how that goes I'm really excited though.  I'm optimistic about the next cycle!

Now you all have me pondering testing out the trigger.... To do or not to do. I'm torn. Dang. DH gave me the shot. After I quadruple checked it. It didn't feel great and I had a tingling/burning sensation for a few hours after. Today I feel a bit nauseous, but I don't know if the nausea is related or not.
