How did LO do? How are you doing?

He did well and I'm good. I felt so terribly guilty and almost cried when the anesthesiologist came in. His oxygen levels went down during the surgery due to congestion, so they had to put a tube down his throat rather than just the mask for safety reasons. They also gave him a breathing treatment when he woke up before they brought him to us. They said it's common and they were happy with how his lungs sounded, but I just felt guilty for letting him go under in the first place. We had to cancel this once for the same reason and we didn't want to again, so we went to see if they'd take him. Of course 4-5 people looked him over before they took him back so I shouldn't feel bad, but I really did.

Other than that, he did great! He didn't cry when they brought him out or really at all today. He slept for four hours, woke up for almost two hours, and has been asleep again for nearly three hours. He cried hard when we changed his diaper, almost like the air hurt it, and he tried pulling at it. It's still covered and will be for 2-3 days, but I'm sure it hurts really bad.

Sorry that got long, but thanks for checking in on us! I'm home alone tomorrow with him so it should be interesting.

I'm glad in the grand scheme of things everything went fine. It must be really hard to watch your LO go through surgery. Just baby him tomorrow and take it easy.

Thanks girls! I've had a rough time with my guilt tonight as his cough gets worse but he's in a pretty good mood; that's all I can ask for!

So glad it all worked out. When my little guy had surgery on his parts I was so nervous about the anesthesia too. Recovery was harder on me when hed say his pee hurt but we got through it and all is good. Hang in there. I hope for speedy healing.

Thanks! He's acting more normal today, playful and crawling around. His dressing fell off this morning so diaper changes are becoming more interesting. I have to apply ointment and he cries. I can't imagine how boys who get this done later in life feel.

Glad he's doing better! I remember ds crying grabbing his diaper when he peed for a few days. Only really cried during diaper changed when he would also try and grab it but it did seem to heal fast! Lots of love snuggle time for your lo!
