scar questions

I am 3 weeks pp and my scar is "flat" on the left side and there is a large "lump" on the other side of my scar. It is about half the scar and it is about an inch thick around the incision. You cant see it but if you touch the area you can feel it.

another question. is it normal for your scar to be "moist"? the middle part of my scar where the lump starts always has the skin folded over and it never gets aired out. it is red and when i touch the scar it is usually wet. normal?

I would ask your doctor about the moistness issue, but the lump you're feeling is probably a mass of scar tissue called a "keloid scar." I had one that pooped up but flattened quickly. Good luck!

The moistness seems odd to me so I would ask about that one. The lump is pretty common I think and fades with time.

Just echoing what PPs said. Try to air out your incision area (at the very least pat it dry with a towel) and ask your doctor about it.

Your scar still might decrease and fade over time.
