How do you TTA

I'm not asking how it's done, just how YOU prevent? I know how to NOT make a baby… Do you use condoms? Pull out? Refrain from sex?

We might be going to Hawaii in January, and I would really like to be able to go. It's a work convention that is always held in January, and for the past 5 years has been in Deadwood, SD. This year they might switch it up. I've never been to Hawaii and I'd really like to make it a little vacation! I've charted on FF before but I wasn't very good at it. I thought we totally missed the window the month DS was conceived… and well, we didn't! So I'm obviously not very confident in my charting skills. So, what's done in your house?

We're still trying to decide if we want to try for LO#3. If we decide we're done at 2 then DH is getting the big V. If not, we're going to have to do something other than "pull and pray" which is where we're at right now (granted, DS2 is not quite 3 months old and sex is pretty much the last thing on my mind). I don't want to go back on anything hormonal, and neither of us wants to do the condom route so our options are pretty limited.

Condoms for now, but toying with an IUD while we give it a few years to decide if we're done. I suck at charting as well so need to figure something out.

Abstinence mostly plus BFing plus no period plus pull and pray with a little IF.

mini pill since I am BFing, but typically I do the pill. We want 1 more after this new LO is about 2-3 yo. Once #3 is here we will probably be done, so will have the big V talk at that time

before DD, I charted to avoid for 2.5 years.  I have textbook charts each month though, so it was pretty easy to do.  Paired with pull-and-pray.  After DD, I got Mirena and loved it.  When we were getting ready to TTC #2, I had a few months of charting (after Mirena removed) before we wanted to try.  After this baby, I'll probably get Mirena again since I won't be as willing to chance the TTA via charting method.  Once we decide we're done for good, we'll probably talk about something permanent.

I use NFP.  I used to temp all them time, but now I just watch out for fertile signs. I never got back on BC because 1- My OB wouldn't prescribe them 2- I hate the way I feel on BC

Why won't your OB prescribe BCP?

I am reviving this thread now that AF showed up. I can't decide whether to chart to TTA or pull and pray all the time. I am afraid if I start temping I will get obsessed and want to TTC earlier than planned. Tell me what to do inter web friends

We are going to Punta Cana without the kids in Aug so I don't want to be pregnant and then to the Cayman Islands in January with the kids (don't want to be more than 20wks for this trip). I need to wait until Sept now instead of Aug.

Why won't your OB prescribe BCP?

Because of his religion. When I first started going to him we had to sign a form stating that he will not prescribe BCP or IUDs
