I'll be honest. I didn't vote. I am just really really not a fan of the "last name as first name" trend.

There are many different trends, so can you share some other trends you like for names?
I don't want to name my kid Jack or Tom soooo..idk. I'm not up on "trends" so much..I've just been told that these are "trendy" & popular. That's the list we came up with. What are your suggestions?

  • Do you have any first names on the list?
    Another chance to disapprove,
    Another brilliant zinger...
    Another reason not to move,
    Another vodka stinger!

    They're all first names ;-)

  • I don't really like any of them. I'm sorry :/

For popular/trendy names, what about Liam, Jacob, etc? Something that won't sound cutesy when your son is an adult. If you must go with one of these names, why not more common versions? Like Cameron instead of Camden (definitely don't use the K spelling), or Brent instead of Bentley?

  • I voted Corbin.

  • Mason, Corbin, and Hudson are all ok to me.  I would probably vote for Hudson as my favorite.  Mason is overdone, but nice.

IMO, Liam is everyones name now & Jacob/Brent are the most boring everyday names ever
I actually didn't know Camden needed the C because I've seen it a few times, but only with a K. That's cool though! To each their own :)

  • I really like Corbin.  Corbin Hollis?

Weird that you're so against popular names but you have Mason on your list. Thats #2 in popularity in the US. If you named your kid Jack or Tom, that'd actually be more unique.
I'm against them? News to me!

  • I know more Bentley's than Liam's.

Corbin and Greyson are good names. I'm over Mason, but it's a fine name. I'd nix the rest.

Well, you said "I don't want to name my kid Jack or Tom soooo..idk" and "Liam is everyones name now & Jacob/Brent are the most boring everyday names ever." Sounds like you don't like common names, but then you put the second most common name on your list.

I very much appreciate those suggestions.....but i hate all of them lol
We definitely agree on Corbin though! thanks for the input :)

  • Ack! You hate every one in that long list from bromios? Some seem so similar to ones in your poll!

I happen to like Mason. Then Corbin. And I'm okay on Hollis... A friend just named her son Hollis. It was her grandpa's name. The others are nms style at all, but not horrible. ..except Kamden, that's horrible.

  • I like Hollis: )
  • i selected mason because it was the one i disliked the least
  • I'm not sure I can get on board with the name Hollis. First, it seems like Holly might be a natural nickname, which could be awkward for a boy. And second, Hollis is a pretty sketchy area of Queens, NY.

    I profess myself surprised.

See, this is why we need some more info from you about your style/preference. This list crosses a lot of areas/styles/preferences but yet you "hate them all".

If you're set on Corbin, then I guess it doesn't matter since you don't need more suggestions, but if you do want more suggestions, please help us help you.
I WAS thinking, "Hate is a strong word... that's a lot of hate..."

I'm NOT set on Corbin and, AGAIN, I'll say, idk what names fit in to what styles/trends. I just like names that I like and I'm sorry if I offended you with the word hate. I hope saying I truly dislike those names gives you peace of mind.

I thanked you for the suggestions. The end.

  • Kamden is super cute to me. Bentley is too teen mom at the moment. Corbin is cute, mason reminds me of the kardashian baby but is still cute and I mulled that one over for my son. Greyson would be my 3rd choice.
  • I voted Monroe. It is a guilty pleasure name for me (thank you, Grimm).

  • If you like surnames as FNs, why not use a surname from your family?  I don't mind surnames as FNs per se - both my kids have them - but one of them is my mom's maiden name, and one of them is Lincoln, which is trendy these days but which we deliberately used to honor the president.  If everyone who liked surnames as FNs chose names from their own background instead of adapting names that have no relationship to them - which I just find kind of weird - then it would be a truly interesting trend, and kids would have names to be proud of.  Just my opinion.

    But from this list, Corbin.

  • Bentley and Kamden are awful.  Corbin is the best on your list.  I wouldn't openly scowl at Jensen and Monroe.
  • Couldn't find one I liked. Sorry.
  • yeah.yeah. member
why ask if you don't want responses?

Also, thanks because now I can't get "It's Christmastime in Hollis, Queens" out of my head, and I assure you your child's teacher will be in the same boat should you choose Hollis.

Team Corbin out of your list. In the outside case that you are actually asking for input here...
  • I think Corbin and Greyson are okay. Bentley and Kamden are terrible. The rest are just boring.

Some of those names are pretty common now....Mason is definitely very popular. Which is fine....but if you don't want a common name then you might want to stay clear. It's one of those things that happen a lot ....we think that we have chosen an usual name because we didn't hear it most of our lives, but lo and behold, it has actually become a very popular baby name. I think that Monroe and Hollis would be the two most uncommon names on there, but I'm not definite about what has been happening in the last year or so.

Yep! I knew you'd key in on that! hahaha. I love those names. Essentially, names you think are hideous, throw at me, bc I'll more than likely love them.

  • I'm sorry but I really hate Bentley.  It sounds like something a 15 yo would name a dog.

Greyson doesn't bother me as that's my DH's grandfather's name so I actually picture an 80 yo man and not a baby.  Corbin and Mason are fine too.
  • Love the name Monroe!!

Bentley was also the major douche on the Bachelorette that one season...
I have never watched that show.  But being a douche would probably be a prerequisite to being named Bentley.
  • NMS at all, but of that list: Hollis, Hudson, Mason. I don't love any of them, but these are my favorites.

My boys are Mason and Camden so I am bias towards those . All of the Camden's I've met are spelled with a K, but I still prefer it with a C. I really like Monroe
