Ugh Girls Names

We are expecting our 2nd child (a girl!) in less than 10 weeks and are having the hardest time coming up with a girl's name! I absolutely LOVE my son's name, Dean. It's a family name and both of us loved it immediately and knew it was the right one for us. If this baby was a boy, we were sold on the name Sam, but alas no penis. So we've (sort of) narrowed down a list of girls names, but we don't LOVE any of them. Help please with thoughts on the names below and any other names you think go well with soon-to-be big brother Dean. We like normal names, on the shorter, simpler side that aren't hugely popular. Our last name is just 5 letters and Greek sounding. Thanks in advance!

I love Clara - short and sweet and similar to Kara, but without the pronunciation issue mentioned by PP.

For some reason I like Cara but not Kara as much, and I pronounce it Ca-ruh (first syllable like cat without the t). I actually think those two pronunciations you list just come from regional accents. Where I'm from, with Kara, you'd get mostly Care-uh or Ca-ruh, not Car-uh.

I think I like Samantha the most. Then Corinne, then Kara and Tessa.

They are all fine names, but if you aren't loving them...

Um, well, Dean and Sam are brothers on the TV show Supernatural. Kinda sounds like you're trying to copy that, even though you're not because Dean was a family name.

If you like Kara, but are worried about mispronounced versions of it her whole life, why not Kari? I'm also partial to Corinne and Caroline.

If you like the S sound, why not go for Sarah? I think Dean and Sarah sound nice together.

As long as your baby is healthy, it doesn't matter what gender it is. Did you put ugh in the title because you're really that disappointed?? Girls are great, too! Now you'll have one of each

Oh gosh not at all!!!!! We honestly didn't care about the gender either way. I put UGH because of our inability to come up with a girl's name and "maybe best it isn't a boy" was a reference to people thinking we named our children after a CW show since Sam would surely have been baby boy #2's name

I really like Marissa and Claire, thanks for the suggestions! I love Lia but a good friend of ours just had a little Lia and we spends lots of time together.

I really do like all your choices, but my favorite is Corinne. And then Samantha would be my second choice... it's interesting, I've never really liked it, but it's totally been growing on my lately

Definitely the former. I haven't heard it pronounced the other way. Wonder if this is a common pronounciatoin?

How did I know you were Greek? I dated a Greek guy with a cousin Sam and a brother Dean The one Greek girl I knew was named Anastasia, but everyone called her Stacy.

That's so funny you didn't know about the show Supernatural! I thought for sure that's where Sam was coming from :P
I don't like Corrine with Dean because it kind of rhymes...Tessa and Kara would be cool. I've always liked Jade, a good solid 1 syllable girls name that isn't overused. I'm pretty sure if you go with Samantha everyone will think you're huge Supernatural fans! Lol still a good name though.
