Thoughts?

My daycare is closed tomorrow. My MIL will be watching LO for the day. She has never watched him for longer than 3 hours.
I'd prefer if she would watch him at our house because all of his things are here, it is baby proofed and it just makes my life a lot easier.
When I talked to her last weekend I gave her the option of where to watch him. Well of course, she chose her house. Thinking about tomorrow is giving me anxiety I have to pack so much stuff. High Chair, Diapers, Wipes, Formula, Bottles, Food.. to add to all of that I have to get out the door extra early to get to her house and also give instructions or whatever. LO has been sleeping in a lot later  which means I will most likely be waking him up to leave for her house.
Do you think it would be rude of me to ask her to come to our house instead?

Nope. I would say something like "you know I've been thinking that it would probably be easier on you if you came here to watch lo since all of his things are here and then I don't have to wake lo in the morning and he won't be cranky for you. See you tomorrow at X am! Thanks!"

I would ask. Let her know the difficulties you would have going there including waking a sleeping baby.

If it were me, I'd explain the situation to her. Letting her also know that it would be easier at your house "incase" you happen to forget anything in your haste to try and make it to her house on time and see what she says.

It's slightly rude because its lat minute. If you had told her right away that's what you wanted it would have been perfectly ok, but now you agreed to her house last weekend.

I would still ask though.

We have spare things at both grandparents' homes because I know I will forget something, so my mom has an exersaucer a high chair, toys, and a pack n play, so does DH's mom... that way, I only have to remember clothes, diapers/wipes, bottles, formula and food.

So that wasn't helpful... if you don't have that.. I'd ask her to come to you, and explain why.

Thank you all! I mentioned it to DH he said he would just ask her to come to our house. He agreed with me that it is a pain.. I told him I didn't want her to think I was a B but he kept telling me it isn't a big deal. 

@Carrie3102 : She has a couple things but she doesn't really have the essentials like diapers, wipes, formula and the big one a high chair. She does have a Pack n' Play and an exersaucer but LO doesn't care for that much now that he is mobile.
I am going to buy a cheapo high chair for her to keep at her house so next time I can just bring him there cause I get it.  Also, give her some diapers and wipes to keep there I don't know why we haven't already.

I wouldn't worry about a high chair for three hours. They can eat on the floor on a blanket.

Edit: reading fail. But I still wouldn't worry about a high chair.

Three hours is the longest she has ever watched him. She will be watching him tomorrow from about 7 to 430.

I wouldn't worry with taking a high chair either. I'd def. ask her to come to your house though.

@Silv3rlining - I don't need to pack anything for daycare unless she is out of diapers/wipes or change of clothes.. She has everything else there, even formula.. if I use Up&Up she provides it. 

I think I put too much thought into this and made it into a bigger deal than it actually is. We'll see what she says to DH if she still says she would prefer her house then of course that is what we will do.

I'm pretty sure some diapers, wipes, and food are really all that's needed. But that's just my opinion and what I worry about if LO is spending the day at my moms of in laws.

Hope she can come over though so you won't be stressing! It's always easier when they come to you.

I would politely ask if she could come to your house but not push it. She's the one who is doing you a favor.

I agree with casually mentioning it. I personally have a portable high chair at my dads and grandmas, and a regular high chair I bought for my mom. My mom also has a cheap packnplay. It makes it easier to transport since I only need the diaper bag. I throw a few toys in the bucket and off we go. Once you start doing it a few times, it gets easier to take lo to family.

Also I would just write the instructions down.

So DH mentioned it to her she agreed coming to our house would be easiest for everyone. But I am going to buy her a highchair that can be easily stored for her to keep at her house. Just a cheap one. I am very lucky to have her, she doesn't work so when daycare closes I always have the option to have her watch him. This is just the first time so it was stressing me out.

I feel like I am always running late and I most likely would have forgotten something tomorrow. @jemasa33 I just got done writing instructions too
