Im going to try taking Rylan back out in public today haha. I want to get out of this house but he makes it sooo miserable that its almost just not worth it!!

@ThePinkSuperhero‌ he is adorable! Congrats on being an auntie!! And I agree with you on the FB thing...both my cousin and best friend did that to me. And we were team green so I was really excited to announce he was a boy and they did it for me :(

  • @ThePinkSuperhero Congrats to your sister, he's so handsome!

Today's my last day at this job and I have a lot to do since registration starts today.

Both MH and LO are gone for the week and it's so quiet in my house... And the fact that I'm still not totally used to it doesn't help.

Cinnamon roll and really bad for me girly coffee drink for breakfast, I'm happy. :-)

There was a massive 5-alarm fire in our city yesterday. It was an apartment complex in construction, nobody was injured, but a construction worker had to be rescued. Here's a video someone captured from the building across the street. Woah. I held my breath the entire time I watched it!  Spoiler alert: he makes it!

Also, today is DH's birthday and we're going out to lunch. Can't wait!
  • @jfresh I usually have an adjustment period after I get new lenses so I'd say that's what it is. Usually takes about a week to get to the point where they're working better with my eyes.

@summergirl1211 I feel the same way about LASIK I've wanted it for so long and I overwear my contacts because I am so freaking blind but I'm afraid of the complications. I think everyone I know who has it done loves it so I don't want to be the 1 to have the dry eyes, blurred vision etc.

They should check and make sure you are a candidate for it. My mom got it and is glad she did. Most of the people I heard of that had problems weren't a candidate for it bc the doctor didn't care if they were or not or the doc just wasn't good.

  • Well...FFWC but I never strap Dagny into the cart. She has never made any attempt to stand up or escape so I don't bother with it....
    This, plus they're usually gross.
  • Woohoo @aimee223 exciting!

I woke up feeling all kinds of hungover and was like wtf? Did I drink? Oh yeah...

Ugh I had to tell my mom because she is a planner and would need to plan her vacation time accordingly. I told her not telling anyone till after my ultrasound. What does she do? Tell my grandparents, aunts, cousins, boss, and coworkers. These people are all states away and don't have my Facebook or anything but I *feel* like the whole damn world knows. Thanks blabber mouth.

  • @Barefoot84: My best friend said the same thing. Was the procedure as terrifying as it sounds? Can they give you anything for anxiety, etc.? The thought of having someone suction my eyeball and cut it while I'm awake makes me want to hyperventilate just thinking about it. :-SS
It really wasn't scary once I was in the chair. The worst part is the anxiety before the procedure, but they give you a calmant, the staff is very reassuring and the procedure is really quick, you barely have time to realize it's happening.

  • Oh and I too missed sign ups for swim class next month :(( I was supposed to sign up again mid month and completely dropped the ball. Now my only option is the twice a week one but I feel like that's overkill. Once a month was perfect and she loved it. I feel like I failed her (I'm aware this is irrational).

    - I am also afraid of LASIK.

@nesenotes, sorry your mom told everybody. I would be upset too.

    - I rarely strap Veronica to the cart, the straps are usually broken :( But I don't take her shopping often anyway.

My random - the whole family is taking a long weekend trip to Gainsville to visit the UF where my son wants to go for college coming fall. We will leave tomorrow. I have zero energy for the trip. I have not packed a thing, I don't know what will be the schedule and just overall can not get myself in to the travel mood and not looking forward to it.

  • I put Milo in the big part of the cart, too. He fights like a demon if you try to put him in the top part, and if I do manage to get him and strap him in, he manages to slip out of the strap no matter how tight it is and start standing. It's actually safer for him to be in the big part.

This is us, we "titanic" it regularly.

  • I saw a little boy the other day (maybe 2?) in the parking lot try to stand up in the cart because he wasn't strapped in and the mom wasn't looking. Not saying any of you would not be paying attention, just my random thought after reading this because I was so annoyed with the mom. I was across the parking lot, but luckily a lady was walking by and grabbed the cart as it started to tip forward.
Also, alot of the carts here say 35 pound limit. DS is almost 31 pounds. Goodbye peaceful shopping trips once he isn't supposed to ride in the cart anymore ....

Whaaaat? I never noticed that!! Emery is totes over 35lbs! There is no way in hell I'm going shopping without her in there. She will drive me insane if she walks/wonders/does her own shopping aka pulling everything off the bottom shelves. %-(
