Re: ***Wednesday Ticker Change***

  • Yes, @warmheartmom, we're thinking of you and hope you're doing ok!

Week/Fruit: 31/Pineapple (that sounds kind of painful!)

New Symptoms: Heartburn, which isn't really new but has been manageable up until the weekend due to baby mostly being low. Since Sunday, though, it's been almost constant.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Next appointment is next Friday. So far all is well, placenta moved so that's not an issue. I did my pre-admission clinic at the hospital after last week's appointment so that's set. Things are on track.

    Rants/Raves:

Raves - I made progress on freezer meals over the weekend, which feels good because it's the only thing that I feel like I've made progress with in terms of preparation! Also excited for my first shower this weekend.

Rants - work sucks. I need a few more days to get full mat leave benefits but beyond that, I just don't care anymore. Unfortunately, if I don't work, I don't get paid so I need to suck it up.

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? 2 weeks of vacation time.

  • Week/Fruit: Week 32/Squash
New Symptoms: Lightening crotch (wtf?)/HB comes and goes. I also feel like my ute is weighing down on my body now. Awesome.
Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Routine check up on Friday, 3/28. No updates.
Rants/Raves: No rants today, but its only 8am so give it time. Rave: I slept 7 hours (almost straight) last night and only woke up once to pee. This must be some type of miracle.
GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? DH gets 1 week off paid. I think he'll be taking an additional week of vacation leave and then working from home for another week or so. I'm extremely grateful that DH has the flexibility to work from home!

  • Week/Fruit: 32 weeks / squash

New Symptoms: Nothing new.....just same old SPD and Sciatic problems. Oh, and can't really sleep!

    Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Checkup on Monday

Rants/Raves: 20 more days of tax season!!!!

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born?  Dh is taking 2 weeks......I think ;)

  • @warmheartmom, I hope everything is okay. T&P's are with you. Please update us when you can.

    Week/Fruit: 31 weeks/pineapple

New Symptoms: Don't really have any NEW symptoms necessarily - just the usual. Peeing a ton, generally uncomfortable, some pelvic/crotch pain. Overall still doing well but I can tell it's getting worse.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: I have a routine appt on Friday.

Rants/Raves: I should probably limit my rants today as I have quite a few - yesterday was a terrible, awful day and I am glad it's over...just so many things happening right now and I am feeling entirely too emotional about situations/relationships. Trying to focus on my happy place.
GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? Well, we are in a unique situation this time around b/c LO is due end of May and DH is a teacher and technically his last day of work is the day before my due date. So, assuming this baby stays put as long as he is supposed to, DH will be home with me for about 10 weeks of my maternity leave. I am VERY happy about it - we didn't plan it this way, but it could be really great. With DS1, he was born in mid-February and DH was only able to take off one week of work.

  • Week/Fruit: 33 weeks- durian (I have no idea what that even is!)

New Symptoms: Nothing new, still just tiredness, swollen legs and feet, and heartburn

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: I have an appt next week with the dr and an u/s to check size/position

Rants/Raves: I had my shower last weekend and it was so amazing.  The hosts did such an awesome job and we had a good turnout.  I am so grateful for everyone being so generous!

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born?  Actually, I am not sure.  We need to talk about this!

GL @warmheartmom hope everything is okay with you and LO!

    Week/Fruit: 31 weeks, pineapple

New Symptoms: Some weird back pain that makes it hard to walk. Luckily it doesn't happen often or last long.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Going in today. No updates though.

Rants/Raves: Just ready for May to be here.

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? It depends. He works in the oil field, if he's born during days off then he will go back when he's supposed to, if he's born during days on he'll probably leave when we get home and finish out his hitch.

  • Week/Fruit: Week 32 Squash

New Symptoms:MS and exhaustion are creeping their way back. I'm planning on working until my due date, but I'm beginning to see why so many women begin their maternity leave early.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: I have my 32 wk appt this Friday with the PA. She ordered another u/s bc she was afraid the baby was measuring small. With the way I've felt the past two weeks, I hope the little booger really did hit a growth spurt and shows her up.

Rants/Raves: Took our maternity pics on Saturday and already have previews! We should get the rest of them in about a week. I can't wait to see them all!! My shower is next weekend, too!

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? I think he's only planning on taking about 2 weeks. I'm not sure if his work will let him take that long, so it may only be a week.

Thanks everyone for the warm wishes. I just left L&D, They could stop my contractions but they were able to space them out. I'm 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. They are hoping to keep baby cooking longer but it might not happen since I'm still contracting. I pray that I can keep him one more week. I'll keep you posted if things change. Thank you all again!

  • @warmheartmom, I hope they can stop the contractions for you - if not, are they going to go ahead and give you the steroid shots to help LO's lungs?

A good friend of mine delivered her baby boy at 34 weeks back in February and he spent just under 3 weeks in the NICU and he is doing so wonderful - I am very hopeful that even if you have to deliver LO sooner rather than later, that all will be well.

You will absolutely be in my T&P's.

  • Missed last week since I couldn't get on tb until late!

warmheartmom Glad they could at least space the contractions out for you! Here is hoping LO stays in there a little longer, will be keeping you guys in T&Ps!!an

Week/Fruit: 33 weeks, a durian ( I don't know what this is, and am frustrated I can't find a good substitute I haven't used for my weekly photo)

New Symptoms: Nothing new, but heartburn/acid reflux is getting worse, and more frequent. Going to give zantac a try. Also just starting to get more uncomfortable in general.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: OB appointment yesterday. Blood pressure was a little high when they took it, but better by the end of my appointment. They said one high reading was not a big concern but will be watching it, and if I get any headaches, dizziness, or intense pain on my right side to go in immediately. So far so good though! Weight jumped up a lot on the last two weeks but OB did not seem too concerned.

    Rants/Raves:
Raves: Surprise baby shower was on the 16th! My closest friend out here put it together with DHs help. I live out of state from family and friends so while I expected something from the girls at work, the full blown shower I got was a lot more than I saw coming and it was wonderful!
Also we Finally finished the nursery walls! (Only took a month and a half) and we painted his dresser yesterday. Just need to move in furniture, paint on some accent decorations and add the wall decals!
We are officially registered for our birthing class! One day crash course, but I am hoping it will be good!

Rants: I just wish I would stop gaining so much weight, I know he still has some more growing to do so it will keep going up, but it is hard for me to not feel bad about the numbers I am seeing on the scale.
Also, winter can GTFO. I am sick of 50 and then the next day it snows, and then its 40 and sunny, and then we get 4 degree wind chills. Ugh

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? If LO comes around his due date DH will already be in a five day stretch off, then he will take whatever paid vacation he has, so probably about two weeks.
  • @warmheartmom  I hope the baby can stay in there a little longer!!  Lots of T&Ps your way!
  • Week/Fruit: 33 weeks / Durian

New Symptoms: Acid reflux. Ive been lucky to avoid heart burn and acid so far this whole pregnancy!... With only peanut butter giving me heart burn (weird and frustrating!)

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Just had my weekly appointment. Doctor still wants me to come in weekly so been going in on Wednesdays. Doctor is pleased with my GD blood levels and says keep doing what im doing. He told me again that the baby should be only around 6 and a half pounds.. still dont believe him =P

Rants/Raves: Rant: Im so not prepared for the baby to arrive. I honestly dont have anything it needs besides clothes and a swing. My mom ordered the crib/changing table but she wont give it to me till next month at my shower.. (im paranoid if she comes early I wont have a crib to set up!) I cant buy my carseat till next month either... eeek
Rave: Baby girl is still healthy and I cant complain! DH is nesting like crazy when it comes to cleaning.. Im soooo appreciative that!

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? Well he started his job last month but they do allow them to work from home (if they believe he is ready to work from home). So im hoping that he gets to do that. Otherwise they will let him have 1 week I think since he is still new.

@warmheartmom  - Sending good thoughts your way.  Hope baby decides to stay put for a while longer!

sparklingdiamond I don't know what it is either!  : )

New Symptoms: Can't complain, nothing new.  Just a little more uncomfortable at night.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Next check up is Monday.  Seeing one of the last doctors that I haven't seen yet in my medical group.

Rants/Raves: I had a small shower for my side of the family this past weekend in southern IL.  I have my bigger shower with friends and MIL's side of the family here in Chicago in 2 weeks.  Can't wait, but nothing will compare to getting my hand sewn baby quilt from my grandma this past weekend.  It was SO sweet!!!  It is something I will treasure!

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born?  Not sure, hubby owns his own business and works from home.  His schedule is pretty flexible so he will be working off and on.

@warmheartmom I'm glad things are holding steady for now, thanks for updating us! Take care, hope baby can stay put a little longer.

@aimee223 That's funny because TB says that 31 weeks is a pineapple. So...maybe it's just a bigger pineapple 2 weeks later ;) The produce comparisons have been so wonky for the last few weeks.

    Week/Fruit: 33wks durian fruit

New Symptoms: some minor swelling in my feet/ankles... Heartburn as usual and back and groin pain

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: April 7th regular appt. I'm at every 2 wks now

Rants/Raves: my baby shower is Saturday, I'm excited about that. Our nursery is 95% completed. Making progress

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? If I'm lucky he'll take 3 days off. But I doubt he'll take any time off.

  • Week/Fruit: 34-Butternut Squash

New Symptoms: severe heartburn (which was quickly healed with Zantac...thank you Jesus). Lots of pressure and braxton hicks. Super stuffy nose but don't think I'm sick?

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Appointment tomorrow. As we get closer I am excited for more detailed updates.  I am trying for a VBAC so as we get closer have a clearer picture of how feasible it will be. So far so good!

    Rants/Raves:

Rant: My hubby has never been the "I am going to spoil you because you are pregnant" type.  Which most times I don't mind and I don't really need or want it, but in the end here I would love some foot and backrubs and a tad bit of empathy. But not happenin:)

Rave: only 4 weeks left of work. Finally decided I am going to take a week of vacation prior to my due date week. Now that I have made that decision I am so stoked to have a countdown.

GTYK: How much time is your SO taking off after LO is born? Right now we're planning a week. He also has a job where he can work from home and flex his hours whenever he wants so we might leverage that some in the first couple weeks as well.

    Week/Fruit: 31, pineapple

New Symptoms: Mild nausea. Probably reflux related. I'm just glad the RLP is gone for now. I could barely walk across the room last week.

Upcoming Appointments/Updates: Regular checkup tomorrow morning.

Rant: We're having our kitchen extended a tiny bit. The job should've taken a week at most, but we're halfway through week 5 now. The handyman underestimated everything. I'm so ready to have my house back.

Rave: I'm getting some amazing sleep lately.

GTKY: I'm having the baby on a Thursday, so he'll probably take off that Wednesday through the following Monday or Tuesday. We have a lot of relatives nearby and DH's job allows him some freedom to work at or close to home, so it's not a huge deal.
