Name dilemma. What would you do?

One of my friends named her daughter the name I was planning to name my daughter. This is the name i decided for at least the last decade. She didnt know this and ive never mentioned it to her. To top it off my cousin just recently named her daughter the name i was going with as plan B. They are both unique names. Would you name your child the same name anyway?

You cannot call "dibs" on a name. I would just sit down with your friend and explain casually explain that you had that name picked out for year and will be using it. In all fairness, some people go bat$hit crazy thinking you are "stealing" their name and will disown you forever. No clue how your friend will handle this though.

I would use the name if I really like the name.

If they are the type to get angry I would probably not mention it. If they are reasonable people I would mention it just as I would with any other name. If someone I know decides to use a name I have used I would compliment their good taste.
