@rocknroll64 I had something similar happen to me at my last appt. I've been measuring on track this whole time, and then I have to see the PA and she orders another growth scan because she was thought IUGR could be a possibility b/c I'm short. I'm not that short. She said bebe measured 25-30% range and wanted to make sure he continued to grow. I'm pretty sure that range is quite a bit above IUGR status.

Then she measured my belly and it was 30cm at 30wks. Booyah.

I've had another rush of hormones/morning sickness this week, so I'm hoping he has hit a growth spurt and proves her wrong. I need to stick with my regular Dr.
That is way above IUGR status.  Yay for measuring right on track!!  I'm hoping for a growth spurt too and surprisingly I had a ton of nausea morning sickness this week also!!

I'm glad that we're in the same boat! Makes me feel better.

  • I'm having twins and my fundal height at 32wks was 42cm.
  • DS always measured big, always 80th percentile or more. He was 9 lb 7 oz, 22 inches when he was born. This baby has been measuring "average" (tech's words; no percentiles given) and apparently quite a bit smaller than DS. My doctor isn't worried, though.

I'm confused as to why your dr said being short has anything to do with iugr

  • To add, when I had an iugr baby, I was measuring 4 weeks behind on fundal height before they finally did an ultrasound. And he did have iugr...I.e. < 10th percentile. He was 4-5 weeks behind for weight. This time, I have been right on track with fundal height and baby is 4.5 lbs at 32 weeks.

  • I also agree with pp who said you should be +-2 weeks on your fundal height measurements. More than that and they should be doing a growth ultrasound. I had a doctor with my son blow me off when I was measuring 3 weeks behind and had not grown. I let her talk me into waiting and seeing and sure enough at the next appointment I still had not grown at all. Then she pulled this "your tall" crap and I started crying and saying I didn't feel comfortable leaving without an ultrasound. She finally lamented. Sure enough, baby was iugr. Go with your gut. I have repeatedly been presented with situations were doctors were not concerned and I was. Pretty much, I have been right every time. I think there is something to a mother's intuition...unless you are just a hypochondriac.

  • I just had my regular OB appointment on Friday and they moved my due date from 05/21 to 05/15 based on the ultrasounds (and LMP date). I lost almost a week!

  • I have been measuring 5 weeks ahead my whole pregnancy. I am currently 34 weeks. I went for an ultra sound and he's perfect. He's a lil heavier then average but my fluids were all right where they should be. I have a doc appt on April 8th. My doc will tell me what's up cause I have no idea other then the fact that he is super healthy.
