Turbo tax and amazon GC?

Has anyone done the bonus 10% by using part of your tax return as an amazon GC?

I'm considering it because we do a fair amount of our shopping on amazon and I like free money, but DH is a bit hesitant. Anyone have any insight or experience?

Yes we did. It's nice to have a chunk in our Amazon account. I think it was really easy and we got an extra $50 I think. DH sort of handled our taxes, but we talked about it and since we have Prime use Amazon a lot, we know we would put it to good use. So far we've used it for a few bday presents and things for the boys. No real BIG purchase in mind.

This is a thing?  How do I do it?  I haven't done my taxes since it's not April 15 but I am planning a BIG Amazon purchase as soon as my completion coupon comes.

@danabsd We use turbo tax to do our taxes, at the end (right before you file them I think) it gave the option to use part of your federal return to purchase an amazon gift card, if you do they add a bonus 10% to the value of the card. It said that you should receive the gift card in the mail shortly after you get the remainder of your return in the mail/direct deposit.

Like I said I like free money and this will make our completion coupon worth even more!

DH said very quickly. It appeared in our account the same day we got our refund. @danasbd

@danabsd‌ just to update you, I filed on March 24th, got my return in my bank account on March 31st and got the gift card today, April 1st. I'm really surprised at how quick the turnaround has been!

Awesome. We filed on the 28th? I think. Last year it took a super long time to get our return. I hope it doesn't this time.

I got my GC today. YAY!

I am more excited than I should be to share that here.
