Insanely Impatient! Preggo w/ kidney stones

Hey ladies!

I am 38 weeks and about to go a little crazy.  I am one of the lucky ones who dilates super early and then NOTHING happens!  With my first pregnancy, 2 years ago, I was 4 cm and 10% effaced at 36 weeks, was induced at 39 weeks at 6 cm, 50% effaced.  Now, with my second pregnancy, I was 4 cm 50% effaced at 36 weeks, 5 cm 50% at 37 weeks.  I really don't want to be induced with this one- I had a great experience- but this may be our last baby and I want to experience a somewhat normal start to labor.  I had what I thought was my "Bloody show" on Friday, but nothing much has happened since.  And on top of that I have a 18 mm kidney stone, along with a few smaller ones, that they found at 18 weeks.  I have had 4 surgeries since to replace stents to help relieve the pain.  So my dr. is ready to get that out and settled.  I should go into labor soon, right?  I keep confusing what I think may be a contraction to the kidney pain - which feels the same, but worse and is more constant, without a pattern.  My obgyn said to try and concentrate on tightening, which I have had quite a bit, but nothing consistent.  I am trying not to rush things and I know it is better for her to stay in as long as possible, but it is so hard to stay patient with this pain and to be so far progressed.  It also doesn't help when your Dr. says "I'm sure I'll see you soon."  and a week later - nothing.  Anyone else experience early progress, but with early results or did you go past your due date?
