bumbleride indie twin as only stroller?

Does anyone have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and use it as their only stroller? Do you think it can be used for "everything?" I am not a runner, but we live overseas and have very bumpy roads, potholes, dirt roads, etc. I walk almost every day here with my Mountain Buggy Urban. I also fly back to the US for 3-4 months per year, so I would use it on the plane and then in a typically suburban way: neighborhood walks, mall, etc. Would the Bumblride work in these settings?

Currently I have a Mountain Buggy here overseas, a cheap Jeep stroller for flying, and a City Mini GT that stays in America at Grandmas. This has worked well, but I got lucky with gifts with DD and found the Mountain Buggy on Craig's List for $50. Hoping to not have to get quite so many strollers this time around.

  • You could but its big.  I would probably get a BOB Duallie and a cheaper lightweight option for travel like the Valco Snap Duo.

Yes I was thinking that, too. Or maybe a used bumble ride and then something smaller and cheaper....

Does anyone know if the BOB Duallie will fit through doors? We do take into places when we walk from home sometimes!

It does.  I haven't run into a door I can't get through.  I suggest that over the Indie Twin having owned both myself because the bigger wheels are really great for bad terrain like you are talking about.  The Duallie stroller pushes quite a bit easier than the Indie Twin IMHO.

  • We had the Bumbleride Indie Twin as our only stroller for the first year with 2u2.  We lived in the city (with bumpy sidewalks, cobblestones, snow banks, etc) and it was our main mode of transportation while there!  We loved it.  I looked at the Bob but it seemed too big, especially since we were using it to walk to the coffee shop, grocery store, etc.  If we were driving to a store, mall etc, I would usually bring a single stroller and wear baby #2 in the Bjorn or Ergo.  If it was a quick trip into a coffee shop or something, I brought the snap and go stroller and DS "helped" me push DD for that short trip.

We moved to the suburbs when #2 was about a year and getting too big to wear as often, so at that point I bought a double maclaren stroller used off of craigslist for $50.  I kept that in the car to bring to shopping centers/malls or for a trip into a Starbucks, etc, since it was smaller and easier.  We still used the Bumbleride for jogging, walks or longer trips since it was a better stroller.

    Good luck!
