I go here now! Phoebe's birthday was last Thursday, and we had a party for her on Saturday. We had about 7 people cancel on us, but that's okay. It turned out to be nice and small.
We have a couple challenges this week. She had this awful cough that started on Wednesday, but the doctor checked her out and said if it's still bad or she has fever, to bring her in on Monday. No fever, and I think she's getting better, but now I have it. Ick, my throat feels like crap! The other challenge this week... Why didn't anybody tell me that the day after her 1st birthday means that now she throws toddler tantrums?! So exhausting! She throws herself back and screams, what a mess. It's like somebody flipped a switch on her from good to bad! So that's fun.
As for the favorite healthy snack, probably any type of sliced fruit, bananas, honey dew, anything.

How's everyone doing? Okay, so here we go. Last Monday was the day from hell for me, but what a difference a week makes. H is back home and fully committed to making things work. We had a long talk and I finally got the answers I needed, much more than the "I don't knows" I had been getting. While everything was not easy to hear, I'm glad I now know the reasoning behind why he did what he did. Things will take a lot of time and work, but I am much more confident in what the future holds.
Any challenges this week? Ben is cutting his first molar(s?) and holy wow is he not liking it. I feel like he's been teething for the last month and a half, and he is now up to 7 teeth in the front (4 on top, 3 on the bottom) with number 8 (front bottom) also attempting to make an appearance at the same time as the molar. He has been cranky, feverish, and in repeat melt down mode all weekend. The tiniest thing turns into huge sobbing, thrashing, flinging himself on the floor, screeching meltdowns. He actually thrashed so hard Sunday morning I couldn't keep a hold of him and he conked the back of his head on the floor, which only made it that much worse.... He's also been getting up between 3-4 am the last few nights thinking it's play time. He has no interest in milk, just wants to play. This has made for a very sleepy mama. @-)
Milestones? In addition to the teething thing, Ben's vocabulary has doubled in the last week or so. He nows says Dada, Mama, baba, uh-oh, dat (that), waa dis (what's this), and I *think* he is starting to say yes. I asked a few times over the weekend if he wanted something, and he would look and me and say "yush" with a big smile, so I'm thinking that's his "yes."
Funny stories? Nothing really stands out to me between all the meltdowns. Though he is dancing more and more which is super adorable. Especially when he does it out in public.
What's your LO's favorite healthy snack? Ben loves greek yogurt, fruit, cheerios, cheese, and these awesome crispy fruit/veggie chews I found... I forget who makes them but they are awesome (mom had to try them for quality assurance purposes).
@mrsjessicamitchell I am so happy to see your update! I was going to PM you today to check on things Also, I'm starting to wonder if M is getting her molars in?! She has 4 teeth now with 5th coming through on the top. She has always done really well with teething but all weekend she would do just like you described. If I gave her about a 1/2 dose of motrin, they stopped. Hmmm....
ETA: Every time M learns a new skill she will wake up in the middle of the night to play. It will only last a few days and then one day she will do the new skill and it stops. I hope this ends soon for you!
Maybe that's Phoebe's problem too! She has the same 7 teeth as Ben, with the 8th one coming in. And the meltdowns sound just the same! She actually has a bruise on her ear because she was thrashing around and bumped up against the coffee table. Yeesh!

I am pretty sure that's what is causing the wake ups, as it started in the midst of his language jump.
Thanks for thinking of me, it means so much. I have been so supported through this whole ordeal, and am feeling very blessed despite the adversity. I love all my AL ladies, you are amazing!
Welcome to all the new one year olds! So exciting!
We are doing good. DD had a small cold last week, but is doing much better now. She's gotten sick so often this winter. When is it going to be spring already?!
Milestones: we've been down to 1x a day nursing for over two weeks now, so that's a win. I think I'm going to give it another month and then start moving towards full weaning. It's time.
I also gave her a pillow to sleep with for the first time last night. She didn't really use it, but it's one more step towards being a big girl.
Challenges: since we cut out the before bed nursing session DD's sleep has been off. I've been giving her a bed time snack and that's been helping, but she's been waking up between 2 and 3am a few times a week, hungry and wanting to play.
Tantrums, of course, are an on going issue. I'm trying a new approach today. I got a big pack of stickers and every time she does something good, like help me out, pick up her toys, or listen when I tell her something (our normal tantrum triggers), she gets to pick out a sticker. She's earned three so far today! I like the approach of praising the good rather than telling her no, no, no all day. We'll see how it goes.
Cute story: DH has been teaching DD how to make our dogs do tricks. She can tell them to "sit" (sounds like "shi!t" lol), "down", and to shake she grabs their paws and says "shay". She also asks to give them "puppy teats" all the time. These dogs are going to need to go on a diet soon!
QOTW: DD loves fruit. Her current fave is strawberries or "staw-bees".

My BFP Charts This time I'm not leaving without you.
Milestones: DS has started sitting in a booster at the dinner table pretty much for every meal. He is very careful (still messy as heck but he tries so hard not to be) and has also started using a napkin to wipe his face and hands as he eats. He might be late to this last part compared to his peers but I'll take it.
Challenges: DS has been a little "fragile" the last few days, gettin upset very easily and not wanting to do things that he was doing reliably -- like using the potty. No big changes in our routine lately so not sure what's up there.
Funny Story: DS has started saying " I need to stay hydrated" when he wants a drink of water. He picked that up from his dad the last time he was sick. He said this to me when we were in the middle of Target last weekend: "Mommy, I need to stay hydrated". The other lady in the aisle looked very confused to hear this come from a 2.5 year old.

This is my home now too as Alexandra turned one last Sunday! So happy to be joining here!
She had her 12 month appointment today and is finally around 50% in height and weight. She was as low as 15% in weight at one time.
Miss A is doing a lot of walking and I forsee a major challenge in the near future when she HAS to wear shoes. I have tried putting shoes on her a couple of times and she cries and cries until I take them off.
She likes all fruits and most veggies. We are still on purees but are going to try to transition a little more. So we really have not done snacks.

Congrats to all the one year olds! @mrsjessicamitchell-love seeing your update! We are good. Dealing with tantrums too. She is an angel when we are out but when we are home she just let's loose lol my mom and I took her to the dentist today so she could watch me get my teeth cleaned and learn what the dentist is all about. She did excellent and had a great time of course cause she didn't get her teeth looked at yet so she noted watching me! We were dealing with nap troubles for a few days and a few attempts trying to climb out of her crib ( never actually did nut close to it). Well knock on wood, it's stopped and she is back to her normal self. I'm not sure what it was about but hope it's over now for a lil while. I feel like it's too early to convert her crib to a toddler bed but I also don't want her getting hurt either. Super cute is when we talk about the baby, she points to my belly i have mentioned it a few times since our last doc appt but I am surprised she is kinda understanding. I'm so excited for her to be a big sister! DD loves all fruit!

And @mrsjessicamitchell, omigosh, thank you! I almost gave up because she's really got her own agenda all the time, but fortunately was able to snag a couple of pictures that worked. Was determined to use that robe after making it!
DD loves trying to "scare" us lately. She'll go around the corner or hide under the cat's tower and pop her head out and say, "Boo!" It's adorable. She's also started to say "please" in addition to signing it, which is awesome, and she can name almost all of the characters in her favorite Winnie the Pooh book. For whatever reason, she won't say Rabbit, she just uses her sign for "rabbit." We definitely hear new words out of her every week now, sometimes a few a day, which is super cool.
I think I need to just start feeding her huge meals, as I swear the only time we experience any challenging behaviors are when she's even remotely hungry. And then if she's too hungry when she sits down to eat - like every day when she refuses to give me time to cook dinner - she refuses to eat things she would typically like in favor of battling DH and I over getting more of one thing or another. I know it's normal, but I always worry we're sending her to bed hungry - once she throws food on the floor or refuses to eat a vegetable (or whatever it is she's decided she suddenly doesn't like) enough times, DH just takes her plate away and she goes straight into the bath. But she's been sleeping through the night - !!! - outside of the few days last week when she was sick, so she can't be that hungry.
DD is so strange about food. Some days she could devour a whole pint of raspberries and other days she'll look at me like I'm crazy when I offer her some. Same goes for strawberries and clementines. She always loves yogurt, though, and I make these mini sweet potato muffins (https://weelicious.com/2011/03/16/mini-sweet-potato-muffins/) that are a staple of her diet.
Harper is keeping me on my toes! I'm so thankful for her every single minute. No challenges this week except that we have had my Mom visiting w/ us for the last 3 weeks but this w/e she went home. I so enjoyed her visit and so did my DD. It was nice to have my Mom close and see my daughter make memories w/ her. My Mom & Dad live 10 hours away so we don't get to see them all the time but probably half a dz times a year. So my LO is missing her Mimi and it's precious to see how much love she holds for her.
As for milestones...she continue to amazes me w/ her memory and vocabulary! She's talking in complete sentences and it's astounding.
Funny story - this week she keeps calling her Daddy by his first name. Just randomly says Matt to him and it's hilarious! She surprised us last month by even knowing our names. Now she says her name too.
My DD loves hummus! I put hummus on whole wheat pita points and she loves it. She also loves fresh fruit any time day or night.
