First OB appt question

Hi ladies!

I had a couple of questions about the timing of your first OB appt. If all goes well at our U/S on 4/4, our RE will release me to my OB. I'll be almost 7 weeks.

Wondering when my first OB appt will be? Also, did you wait until after the U/S to schedule it? It typically takes awhile to get an appt at my OB's office, so I'm a little anxious about waiting.

Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thank you!!

Congrats! As PP mentioned, I would make your appt now. I was released by my RE after two ultrasounds (I think 8 weeks) and I had my first OB appt at 9 or 10 weeks. I made the appt after my first u/s though.

I would go ahead and make the appointment so you have it because god forbid you can always cancel. At least that's what I did. I also was released at 7 weeks and the OB saw me at 8 weeks and 10 weeks. (One with the nurse for general things and then second with the OB)

I just called my ob, told them I was pregnant, and they scheduled the appointment for 10 weeks. I wish I had known how long the appointment was going to be! With Pap smear, talking with doc, Bloodwork, and ultrasound, I was there for almost three hours! Bring snacks! Lol

My RE told me to make an appointment 1 1/2 to 2 weeks from my last appointment with her. I'd say better safe than sorry and get in soon to get the process started with your OB.

My RE told me to call when I was 8 weeks to make the appointment and said that I should say I'm being released from my RE after being under her care during the first however many weeks of pregnancy. That way they would be able to make room for me within 1-2 weeks for my first prenatal appointment.
