French Macaron As Favor?

What do you guys think? I live out of state from where my baby shower is being planned (by MIL, 2 sisters, my mom) and I want to help a little... 

We are doing a brunch and having cupcakes, are edible favors too much food? I really want to send everyone home with 1 or 2 macarons from a bakery in downtown Seattle, overdoing it since there will be cupcakes AT the shower?

I did french Macarons and chocolate covered oreos for my daughter's baptism reception favors. They were a huge hit.
