Cloth Diapering

Hi :)

I was told to check this board out by my BMB because you ladies are really knowledgeable. So before I started posting I figured id introduce myself.

I'm km. I'm 26 and have one DD who is almost 8 weeks old.

We are currently using Apple Cheeks pockets, BG 4.0 pockets, and I bought 1 BG AIO to try out.

So far I like CDing. The AIO is awesome for overnights. We've been having some leak issues because DD has skinny legs but I'm hoping that will improve as she gets bigger.

Does anyone here use Apple Cheeks? They are a Canadian brand and I got a bunch gently used from a friend. I haven't seen much about them so I was just curious.

Anyway, hi!

    Welcome!

    Good memory @Afwifelife !!

    Welcome km!

Yes I used AC almost exclusively from 6 weeks to around 4 months. I loved them. Once he outgrew the size ones (7-8 months or so) I bought a few size two which I like but don't love. We did need a different ON solution around 3.5 months because he was a heavy wetter.

And yes your OS diapers will start fitting your baby better as her legs chunk out.

  • After a few months you will likely have to reassess night time diapering. We used pockets at first, but as my daughter started peeing more at night thee was nothing we could stuff in there that wouldn't leak! We switched to fitteds and pul covers and that worked great. Everything fits better once those frog legs flesh out :). Welcome!

  • Hello and welcome!
  • Hi :) I don't use Apple Cheeks (for the same reason as @Chickypoo2468‌ !), but we're glad you're here.

  • @CLLDLL and @bookitup - I just got an Applecheeks size 1 for DS2. I didn't order any inserts b/c I have so many random inserts and little prefolds already. Am I going to regret this, or are they pretty easy to stuff with whatever?

They will stuff really easily. (The opening is in the middle not the front or back.) That being said, I'd stuff with natural fibers not MF if you can just to avoid any MF accidentally touching LO. My fave to stuff with is a small flat.

  • I think this is my favorite intro. But I haven't used apple cheeks. I'm scared to bc it seems like once you try them you go crazy and need them all.
But I though you already wanted all the diapers?  I thought it was a prerequisite to posting on this board. :-?

  • Welcome! Just wanted to throw out there that GMD workhorse fitteds are a great ON solution if your budget is small like mine :)
