This is the weekly June '14 PgAL check-in. This is a place for anyone due June 2014 that has suffered a previous pregnancy loss. PgAL is an exciting but scary place so please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, milestones and vents. Mostly, this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone in the journey and to offer support along the way. Check-in is every Saturday.

@Brittnic531 / June 14^th  (Sawyer) - Is there any way you’d be able to extend your lease rental?  I’ve bought a few houses and the stress is horrible.  I can’t imagine going through it pregnant. I’m sure you and DH will get through all of this.  It is a stressful time.  DH and I had a strained relationship after DD#1 came with all the lack of sleep and getting used to a new routine.  We just kept telling each other…we will still be married at the end of this and we’ll come out alive. ((HUGS)).

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? I just bought a projector/ white noise machine that is suppose to turn on when the baby fussy.  I'm excited to see how that works.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Heartburn is still there.  I'm sure physically I won't be moving tonight.  It's supposed to be nearly 80 here today so I'm trying to get out and work in all my flower beds before it turns crappy again next week.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I just had an elective at a local college for the students final exams.  We got some good 3Ds and she looks alot like her sister.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add?  I'm happy to be at almost 30 weeks.  Now to just make it to 34 weeks.

Any baby awesomeness this week? She's becoming a maniac in there.

Both of the girls will be going to an in-home daycare. I've been blessed with a great job but I know that they will be in great hands.  She is so awesome and Kaitlyn has become so much a part of their family that she'll be going there when I deliver even in the middle of the night until my brother can come get her.  She was our second babysitter and we couldn't be happier.

Nothing real new to report. I have a sinus infection that is kicking my butt. I'm in a holding pattern as I make all my switches into the city. Made my appt for April 4th for our fetal echo. Hoping to make my mfm appt that same day so I only have to travel into the city one time that week. Getting anxious to make the trec into the city.

QOTW: working mom here. Gonna check out daycares over spring break in April. I'll be home until October though.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?  I'm getting more and more things as time goes on.  We're making settlement on our new house this week so I'm sure my buying, nesting, etc will amp up then. 

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?  I'm feeling good this week actually. 

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I had a growth scan and my regular bi-weekly appointment this past week.  The baby is measuring in the 85th percentile and is already over 3 pounds.  They are keeping a close eye on me because of my GD. 

Any PgAL crazy you want to add?  Not this week, for once. 

Any baby awesomeness this week?  He's rolling and kicking around all hours of the day.

QOTW – Who is going to watch LO?  Will you be a working mom or a stay at home mom?  My mom stopped working when I had DS1 and has watched both of my boys and will watch the new baby.  I am a working mom, unfortunately, but it is comforting that they are with their grandmother.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? Bought a used rocking horse made out of wood, so cute!!!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Doing ok, really cant complain.  Hard time sleeping, been sleeping on the couch sitting up easier to sleep.  Getting heartburn, never had it before!!

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Just had my 27 week US last Thurs.  Placenta moved!!! Super excited.  Little one is still breech but not worrying.  Got to see her in 3D which was so cool!!!

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Not really

Any baby awesomeness this week? Hubby finally last week felt her move.  Usually I can feel her but only once in awhile and not strong.  So by the time I try to get him over to feel she is done.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? We have a few things, my baby shower is next week so we will probably finish getting his room ready after that.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Pretty good now, I had a few really down days after being released from the hospital. Almost all of my pre-e symptoms are gone now. I just have a little higher bp than normal so I am on drugs for that. I am getting around pretty good too after surgery, the only thing I would change is I wish the swelling would go down, I can't fit into any of my shoes so I wear slippers everywhere.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Liam is doing amazing! I can't believe how far he has come in just a week, today DH and I will get to help with his bath and if his brain ultrasound goes well this morning we will also get to start kangaroo care holding him! 

Any baby awesomeness this week? Liam has started really sucking on the pacifier we give him to calm him down when he gets upset, the nurses say that it's really early for a baby so young to actually be able to suck on it.

Hiiiii! I missed a few weeks because we went on a little trip (last one as a family of three before baby!) and then my son was sick. But I'm here and so glad to catch up!

How far along are you? 27w1d

Team / Name? Baby boy. My son wants to name him Snoopy Bridge. Ha. He's come the closest to settling on a name!

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? I let Gabe (my 3yo) pick an outfit out for his baby brother. So cute. I have on my To Buy List: an infant carseat, a sound machine, and the lullaby seahorse. So little compared to the first time around! I love it.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Pretty good. A little achy and sore and old ladyish, but mostly well.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Because I am *mostly* outside the crazy (though I do have my moments - I feel like I know so many more terrible stories now!), I also feel like I'm not able to relate as well to my friends who are currently struggling and not pregnant. It's a hard place to feel like I can't fully embrace to unbridled happiness of regular pregnant friends, but am pregnant and therefore can't fully embrace my friends struggling with loss and infertility.

QOTW – Who is going to watch LO?  Will you be a working mom or a stay at home mom? This is the million dollar question!! I actually just wrote a long post about this on my blog last week (see here) because I'm so stressed about what we'll do! I work part-time from home and this year, we've had my son in preschool 3 days a week, but that's not really an option for a baby. Plussss, we only have one car and my husband is starting a less flexible position, so transportation to preschool isn't as easy. I think ideally I'd have them in a daycare 2-3 full days a week and get my work done then. But that requires a whole lot of research and planning and I'm just overwhelmed!

@kimmyberly26 - Glad to hear you liked the Ergo.  With DS, I never had a good back carrier, so that's mostly why I'm interested in it.  Good to know that it's warm, though.  When DS was tiny, I liked the Moby a lot, but it was really warm, too (and I had him in March!)  I guess we'll see, I was hoping to only buy one carrier this time around since it looks like the Ergo is going to be pricey, even used.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?  My friend who just had a baby a month ago just dropped off a goody bag of newborn clothes she didn't need/use (her daughter was over 9 lbs!) and some postpartum toiletries that she stole from the hospital.  I'm planning to deliver at a freestanding birth center and will need to supply my own postpartum stuff and was telling her how much I'll be missing those instant ice packs, so she stole me a bunch!  Evidently, she had a super easy birth and recovery and so she didn't need all that they gave her.  Needless to say, I'm very grateful, and unnaturally excited about the ice packs, lol!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?  One of my hips is hurting a lot the past few days.  I'm not sure if I should try to stretch it out, or if that might hurt it more, so for the time being I'm taking it easy.  I think I'll ask my yoga instructor on Tuesday.  Emotionally, I'm feeling good :-)  

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? MW appointment next Thursday.  I think I'll be bringing in my birth center and hospital transfer birth plans to go through with them.  It should be an interesting appointment.

Any baby awesomeness this week?  Her kicks are so strong!  It's hard to believe that she's still such a tiny peanut in there (because I'm not feeling so tiny anymore ).

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?  Nothing other than the rocking chair we ordered last week.  But we've talked a lot about everything that needs to get done on the shopping front and on the house fixing front . . . . I've been excitedly looking at strollers.  We may go with the Baby Jogger City Versa . . . .

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I'm pretty great.  Emotionally pretty good too although every once in a while I think, "is he moving enough?"

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share?   I had my latest appointment last Thursday, and I didn't gain any weight in 4 weeks.    (Surprising to me, since I'm definitely bigger).  I asked my doctor about it, but she said she wasn't worried.  My fundal height is good.  So at this point I'm about 16-18 lbs up.  If i gain the expected 12 lbs in the 3rd trimester, I should still be gaining enough.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add?  Not really!

Any baby awesomeness this week?  He's definitely bigger; his rolling movements are very noticeable.  My uterus is already to the bottom of my ribs; I kind of wonder how I'm going to make enough space for him!  I guess it's just going to be all *out* at this point . . . .

QOTW – Who is going to watch LO?  Will you be a working mom or a stay at home mom?  I'm a working mom, but luckily we won't need day care until he's about 14 months!  Both my husband and I are college professors, and we're lucky enough with our jobs that I can take the fall semester for maternity leave and he can take the spring semester for paternity leave.  So we won't really need day care until fall of 2015!

Any baby awesomeness this week? One morning before DH got out of bed for work he just curled up next to me and I put his hand on my stomach because baby was kicking away. We just laid there feeling the baby moving. It might sound stupid but it was it's simple momenst like that that I dreamed about having when we were going through our losses and trying to get pregnant.

@kimmyberly26-  Thank you SO much! The short answer is no, we can't extend our lease.  When the new owners bought the house, they did not contact us or return our calls and by the time he called us back, he already had contractors lined up for April.  Therefore, not giving us a chance to ask to stay longer.  We are trusting things are going to work out and doing what we can, but that doesn't make the process any easier.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?  Nothing new, other than we put an offer on the house and it was accepted.  Just crossing our fingers that everything goes through quickly. 

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?  Physically, I'm feeling some more aches and pains, but really can't complain.  Emotionally, I have good days and bad days dealing with all this stress.  DH reminded me today that I need to tell him more how he can help me.  

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share?  I had my appointment on Thursday and they were able to get all the pics of Sawyer's heart and she's 2lbs. 9oz. Heartbeat was 145.  Did my glucose test and didn't get a call back on Friday, so that's good! (Although, I could get one on Monday...)  Got the Tdap vaccine too... hurt like a B! She's also super low so they checked my cervix to make sure it wasn't shortening.

@kimmyberly26‌, thanks so much for asking!! I'm doing well and got home earlier this evening! It was really hard to leave Henry at the hospital but I know he's in good hands!! I had an ugly cry breakdown over me being away from him a little while ago!! I think I've been holding it in since I gave birth to him! I think it really hit me that he really was born but I couldn't bring him home!

I did call for an update, he's doing well. His latest blood work showed improvement and he handled his first tube feeding well!! And I'm finally getting milk when I pump so we'll be taking that to him tomorrow!!

Got the courage to but anything yet/what gear are you excited about? I buy something new every week. I have two girls 12&7, this is our first boy, so I'm super excited (plus I have a problem with shopping. Lol). My sister ordered our stroller/carseat and will give to us at the baby shower this weekend, I can't wait! (I know she got it cuz it's tradition to get each other the stroller/carseats, jejeje)

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Tight, heavy, tired. I have good days and bad days. DH has been trying very hard to help out more with my business and deliveries which has been a relief.

Any updates or appointments you'd like to share? I was in the hospital last week, went in for nausea and vomiting, thought I had the flu, since my little one had it and they found my wbc was thru the roof, in the 20's, and I was immediately transferred to l&d, luckily everything turned out fine, baby is weighing in at 3pds 7oz already! And I was sent home on bed rest. I go in on Monday for my 30 wk check up at my high risk dr and 30 wk check up on Tuesday with my regular ob.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Baby is trying out for the Olympics, he is so active lately, and I can now feel hick ups from outside my belly (my girls think it's hilarious)

Qotw - who is going to watch lo? Luckily I work from home and will stay home with him, my mom and dh are requesting their vacation time when he arrived to help out since I will have a c section for the first time. Really nervous about that.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? My bedding set came in! DH picked it out, it's got monkeys playing guitar. I'm not big on "cutsey" themes, but it's the one thing he's been super excited about so I'm going with it. I've also got tons of clothes and a carseat now.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? This week has been okay. I feel halfway normal, aside from insomnia.

I had a dentist appointment that I've been rescheduling for 7 months because I'm a big baby and have anxiety about potentially being in pain and couldn't take any anxiety meds while pregnant. I sucked it up finally and LO kicked me and rolled around the whole time, giving me something else to focus on.  Its like he knew how much I needed comfort.

I'll be watching LO. DH has the much better salary and we made the choice to move to save money since we can't afford both childcare and rent near DC. It's not the ideal choice but it means I can stay at home, finish my degree in night classes and we will save a lot of money meaning we can buy a house sooner. When I finish school/we get a house/can afford childcare (whatever comes first) I'll be heading back to work.

PGAL is pregnancy after a loss, so unfortunately we have lost a baby at some point. I personally have had two miscarriages (Nov 2011 and Feb 2013).

@kimmyberly26‌ - yes, hormones suck!! It makes such an emotional mess when normally I am easy breezy. A sprinkle is a smaller shower and you normally just invite your closest friends and immediate family only. People usually just bring the essentials like diapers, wipes, pacifiers, bibs, clothes, etc. not usually the large items that you get at a shower. Everything worked out. My mom admitted her being wrong and now my SIL and BF are taking over. Everyone feels much better.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I’m exhausted we’ve had major sleep regression with our 2yo because he’s been sick. But we seem to be moving past it the last couple nights - FX

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Well I couldn’t do the 3hour on Sat. my OB’s office checked the wrong box on the lab paperwork. So now I have to go in tomorrow and try again.

Any baby awesomeness this week? We had our last elective US yesterday and got some awesome profile shots of the little man. He’s measuring a couple weeks bigger than his GA but that’s to be expected my son was over 10 pounds when he was born at 37 weeks

Got the courage to buy anything yet/what gear are you excited about? We picked up a pack n play on sale & some clothes on clearance here and there.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Some days i'm so excited to be a mommy & other days i'm completely devastated. I've beenn apping a lot. I've noticed my emotions are out of control.   

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Eh, waiting for results of my 1hr glucose test to come back. Appt this friday with the specialist for my monthly sonogram. April 1st we schedule the csection.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? My lmp for this pregnancy was 9/17/13... which was my due date for the baby we lost!!!!  Also, we found out at our 18wk anatomy scan that our baby has Gastroschisis. So, he'll need surgery once born & we'll be in the nicu all summer with him. We can't bring him home til he can eat & poop properly

Any baby awesomeness this week? Nope, he's been really active so far, but he's been having lazy days. I love his kicks

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? I just purchased more boy clothes, diapers and wipes, Burp Cloths, picture frames and a baby book. I seem to purchase something everytime I go to the store.  I have a shopping problem

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I feel huge...I can no longer see my feet. Dr said at my last appointment that I was measuring big (no surprise here) Emotionally: I take this one day by day. One day I am over the moon excited and the next day I get this feeling of did I feel the baby move today?

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I have my big appointment on Thursday. GD test, Ultrasound and my last normal dr appointment. when I go back in four weeks I start my weekly NST appointments and will only have 5 more weeks. YIKES!

@kimmyberly26  It was a LONG 4 hours of going back and forth between offices in the hospital. Everything went as planned except for the visit. There was protein in my urine and my BP was CRAZY high. The dr wanted to admit me to L&D for monitoring but after I explained the stress of losing 2 parents the past 3 weeks she gave me a week to get it under control as well as making me do a 24 hour urine test at home. I have monitored my BP and my readings are normal so we will see what they say at the appt tomorrow.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Abigail moves around a lot but hates when you touch my belly. At my 28 week appt the u/s tech wanted to get some good 3D pics but Abby refused to move her hand from her face so the tech kept proding her to move it. She got REALLY mad and starting fighting back by kicking and punching ... I'm talking all out war in there! The tech surrendered and all was right in the ute world

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? I have bought the bedding and a few blankets, along with some sleepers that husband picked out.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I am feeling pretty good getting BH off and on. Emotionally starting feel overwhelmed with a few things that are happening in every day life. Oh and we need to start working on baby room and its going no ware, feeling very overwhelmed on that part.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Appointment is April 7th have to have the one hour sugar test done April 5th not looking forward for that.

@kimmyberly26 DH knows that he lives in Packers country and Camryn will be surrounded by packers fans, hes not fighting it too hard.  He is recovering very well, hardly taking any pain meds at all anymore.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically still having pain in the pubic bone, and starting to get some tightness/discomfort in the belly when I workout for more than 45 min.  Emotionally exhausted

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Feeling okay, tired and the nausea from the first tri seems to be making a comeback. Found out this morning that I have a yeast infection (fun!) and my glucose was slightly elevated so I have to take the long three hour glucose tolerance test. I was really hoping to avoid that this time but oh well.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Three hour glucose test this Saturday morning, fingers crossed and RH shot next Wednesday.

I will be home for the first year, in Canada we get a full year partially paid by the government so that will be really nice. After that I am undecided, depends where we are at financially. I would like to find something I could do from home to save on child care costs but we will have to see.
