Pio Vs Endometrin

Good Afternoon ladies,

I had a question for you all.. So DH and I are going to NYC in a week and a half and I am planning on asking my RE if I can switch from the PIO injects to the Endometrin while on vacation.  Has anyone did this?  Could it cause possible problems?  DH and I decided that if my RE says anything short of "sure, thats no problem" then we will not take a chance and keep doing the pio.  If you have any advice/comments/recommendations on this I would love to hear them!

    My RE told me once you go to PIO you can't go back to Endometrin.  I LOATHE Endometrin, and asked to switch and my nurse suggested toughing it out since we'll be on it for so long...

    Maybe that's just their opinion, not sure... Good luck & have a great time in NYC!!

    Thanks @princesspixI had not heard that so maybe you are right.   I don't really mind the PIO but it would be more convenient if i could do the meds myself while on vacation.. oh well we will ask and see.

    Not sure about switching back and forth, but I so much preferred PIO to the nasty, leaky endometrin :)

    TTC since July 2011
    BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
    BFP #2: 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks. 
    BFP #3: 8/27/13
    Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
    DH:MFI-Low morph (1%), DNA fragmentation: Excellent!
    5 rounds of clomid, 3 IUIs, and multiple non-medicated cycles- BFFN                                                      
    IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies.  ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI  ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts. 
    + HPT at 6dp5dt. #1 (8dp5dt)- 105    #2 (13dp5dt)- 510  #3 (15dp5dt)- 960  #4 (17dp5dt)- 1889
    Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy.  Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

    Last time I had it for a week at about week 8 as I was travelling out of town for work. Was so gross! Then back to PIO again. From the PIO I ended up being 28 weeks pregnant before I got feeling back in ine if my butt cheeks. But still prefer it! Anyhow, my RE won't allow endometrium before getting to beta stage but after that he is fine. This time I am traveling for work for a couple if night so will take my endometrium for 3 days and then back to PIO. He has no problem with it for me.

    Lurking from IF.
    My RE is having me switch from PIO to Prometrium capsules vaginally at week 9. It actually coincides with a business trip so I can take care of business without DH.

    I actually don't mind PIO as it's once a day vs. three times and it doesn't have leakage issues. I was going to ask at a later date if I could switch back. Am supposed to be on it until week 12.

    Thanks ladies. I suppose there is not harm in asking. I don't mind the PIO either, I think I prefer it but the same time everyday will not be so convenient while on vacation.

    I am given a 4 hour window at night so have been using 7-11 pm as my window, depends on what is going on.

    @Ashris13‌ I'm so glad you asked this, and am wondering what your RE said? I have a beach vacation in 3 weeks and am on the suppositories (which are also causing some spotting). Until you asked this I hadn't even considered the logistics of this and swimsuits [-X I'm going to get my RE's opinion on switching to PIO or oral progesterone for the week, but would love to hear what yours said.

    Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
    2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
    BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
    RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
    ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!
