Newbie from July 14!

Hi, I thought I would jump in and say hello before lurking too long. DH and I are expecting our baby girl 12 July and are planning to CD. We live in ND (I'm active duty Air Force, so not by choice) and don't have many outlets to learn and talk about CDing here. I have started my stash already and I can't wait to learn more and obsess a little more on CDs!! I added a picture of the mystery fluff I scored from kissed by the moon last week!

  • Congrats and welcome.  It's funny you put in the disclaimer about not living in ND by choice.

I've never been but mh used to have to go for work. Winters seem inhumane.

  • Hi, from a fellow July '14 mama. It looks like you have a cute start to your stash already! And FWIW, I file ND in the general region of "way too cold for me to habitate." In fact, I just consider it all Alaska and don't really bother with the details. :p

  • I wish it was as warm in ND as it is in Alaska... And the winters are extremely inhumane. I'm convinced that it should be illegal to be here in the winter.

People in the next community over to me had to put a snowblower on their roof when they came home from vacation because the house was entirely buried in snow. (you could not see a single part of the house).

I am so done with winter.

The house is in the upper left hand side.  The roof was already cleared off when this pic was taken.

EDIT:  I live in Canada... not ND or Alaska

  • @tjkdlhb That is an impressive picture! We lived in Edmonton for 2 winters. Never got that much snow but it was seriously cold! Too bad the dog didn't take a day off from needing his walks. I could've done without the 40-50 below temps.
  • The picture was taken 3 days ago.  I can't wait for Spring.

  • That's insane! I guess that's the only reason I'm glad it's as cold as it is here...it's usually too cold to snow.
