Overbelly or Underbelly?

Re: Overbelly or Underbelly?

  • Im an under girl. The over the belly rolled and were super uncomfortable. I had a pair of Liz Lang jeans that had no panel, they were really low with stretch on the side and I loved them. Sadly they dont make them anymore.

  • I agree with those who said over belly for third tri. Partly because I carried so low with both, under would not have stayed up. I am doing underbelly now!

  • I think it depends on your body shape. I bought a mix of items and the under belly were always falling down at the most inopportune times, like walking the dog around the neighborhood, for example. I came to realize its because of my lack of hips. The over worried better for me, but I also loved dresses, even in the winter. I have a feeling that maxi dresses will be my best friend this summer.

  • Skip the panel in summer and go straight for Maxi dresses. I hated anything pressing on my belly whether over or under in the third tri with both boys.

But then I'd have to wear a dress.  Yeah, so not happening.

I only wear dresses to things like weddings where I have to.

LOL. You sound like me. I only do dresses while pregnant. Usually I'm a jeans kind of girl but I hate maternity jeans.

  • I much prefer the over belly type of maternity pants. I tried both under/over versions but once my baby bump got huge in third tri, the under belly bands really dug into my bump and it was very painful by the end of the day. I also carried very low so that could very well have been the reason for the discomfort. This time around I have totally avoided my under belly band pants.

  • I honestly just used a BellaBand the entire time. Which worked fine for me. :)
  • I preferred underbelly for most of my pregnancy but started to find them uncomfortable in the last month or two of my pregnancy. The overbelly can be annoying because they roll down and you can sometimes see them through fitted shirts. Underbelly felt like it was pressing me too much in the end.

  • I always felt like the unders were falling down and I have a big butt so I'm not sure why they didn't stay up.  I have a large scar and pants that ride lower really irritate it (and now I have a c-section scar to add to my collection) so I preferred over.  I had a March baby though so heat wasn't a problem.
