Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Guide for solids?

I started my daughter on stage 1 baby foods around 6 months (she's now 7 months) and she's almost through all of them. At what point do you start stage 2?  I've been giving her 1/2 container twice a day.  How do I know when to give her more (either 3 x day or full containers)?  Is there a guide/ resource you follow for when to introduce new things and larger portions?  I'm also thinking about making my own food once she tries all of the store bought food.  What is the best resource for that?  Thanks!

  • Like others said, let the baby be your guide.  If she eats all of what you gave her, let her have some more.  For making food, you got a good website recommendation but I also suggest just looking on Plum or Ella's Kitchen or Happy Baby type websites and copying their pouch blends.

  • I started with stage 2 foods at 6 months. She gets 3 "meals" a day. She will usually eat half a pouch in the AM, but eat the full pouches for lunch and dinner. I give meats 2-3 meals per week. I let her be my guide. If she isn't feeling it, I don't push it. If she wants more, I give more.
