Babies on the Brain

Well so much for that

Last night we tried sleeping on opposite sides of the bed, because I figure it will be much easier for me to be on DHs side once I'm pregnant/have a newborn to take care of. (Based on where the bed is in the room and space for a bassinet) You'd think I downed a case of red bull the way I was sleeping! Constantly flopping around, waking up every few hours, freaking out when I felt an arm on the side of my body where it shouldn't be. Really brain? It's just the other side of the bed! Not the zombie apocalypse! Just let me sleep!

  • lol..That's funny..It's crazy how our bodies get use to something right? When I first had our DD the bassinet was on my DH's side of the bed for the same reason. It wasn't too bad for me personally.

I absolutely cannot sleep on DH's side! I feel so out of place!
  • There's no way I could sleep on DH's side of the bed either...when we're traveling, I am ok switching if need be so I can be closest to DD, but in our bed it's too weird- his side smells like him, it doesn't feel the same as mine, etc...

  • I have to sleep most of the night on my side but for some reason when DH gets out at 4am I move over to his side and spend the rest of my sleep time over there. But I could never fall asleep on his side. Messed up I Know!
  • Every time we move to a new place, we end up switching places. He likes to sleep closest to the window and I like to sleep closest to the door (I get up with the dogs in the morning), so it just depends on where we position the bed in the room.

  • Glad I'm not the only one. I imagine I'll get used to it, but I might limit my practicing to weekends so I can make up the sleep later if needed. And no, rearranging the room wouldn't help. I'm on the far side of the room, away from the door and the bathroom. Two things I want to be closer to when the time comes.
  • i did it for one night when eva was newborn...and then moved everything around so i could go back to my side!
  • I can't sleep on DH's side because then he's on the wrong side of me. I'm weird and can't be facing someone when I fall asleep but I also have to fall asleep on my right side.

He wants to trade sides because he goes to bed later than me and has to crawl over me but I refuse haha.
