LO falls asleep while burping

Hi, I have a 7 week old who often wakes from a nap hungry of course but after eating a 1-2 ounces, when I'm trying to burp him, he falls asleep against my shoulder. ( or even sometimes when being burped sitting up,chin supported). I'm not looking to schedule anything yet but I am trying to follow the basic eat/play/sleep routine. His falling asleep kind of messes that up, but he must be tired right? Should I let him sleep or try to wake him to get him to eat more? Background: he was full term, but a bit small (6lb13 down to 6lb4 on discharge) he's now 10 lbs but still low on growth charts so I worry that his falling asleep means he eats less. He's all over the place, sometimes snacking/napping like this, other times eating 6 -7 ozs in one sitting. He is a good night sleeper, from 8/9pm to 6/7a. He does still wake every 2-3 hrs to eat, even after 4-5 ozs, so I think he needs to eat as much as possible. Napping is all over the place, sometimes 20-45 minutes, sometimes 1-2.5 hrs. FWIW, he's usually more sleepy like this after longer naps. Any advice is appreciated, Tia!
