The genetic condition (3mcc) has trumped the private eval altogether.
It seems to be the primary cause of what we have been experiencing thus far (hypotonia, speech delay & drooling, and SPD/SID). We will still be receiving private therapies though - its only helping DS. Still, to help "harness" the seeking (or inattentiveness) in school, I am still willing to keep my mind open with meds. Whatever is needed to help DS be happy and successful. The psych recommends holding off on all further evaluations, so they can determine the correct placement in school.
Since we aren't receiving services in the district, I asked how to get the disorder packet to them. not only is it causing physical difficulties for DS, medically he needs more immediate medical intervention than say the average child if he ever gets sick...much like a diabetic would. The school said to wait until the registration packet comes in April.
Once that is in do you know if this will prompt IEP/504 evaluations? Since this is a charter school, I don't know.
Re: Whelp, okay then...
BUT as you know he does have the sensory seeking behavior from the SPD. Now in the schools everyone said he was in constant movement, and its true, he is until he goes to bed. Im not sure if its SPD or ADHD on that one.
I will work with the school & geneticist to see what works best. His pedi is willing to work with us too, medication wise (if that helps) but not until kindergarten.
If we submit packet in April though, we may see something in the beginning of the school year...unless they start the "countdown" when school starts, doing more of a wait and see approach.
