An oddly effective thing I've found is getting one of those inflatable exercise balls and sitting on it while reading or watching TV (just make sure the one you get is for someone of your height). Shifting around keeping your balance can make your back a little tired after a while, but it really helps my pain. And later, you can use it for labor. One of the best hints I got out of my childbirth class.

I bought a gym ball last week and it's really helped me. I use it for around half an hour when I get home from work. It seems to give my back a bit of a work out and I feel like it loosens things up a bit. I rotate and tilt on it.
Oh and they're great for nursing and getting baby to sleep apparently! Much cheaper than a glider!

I've taken epsom salt baths in the evening about once/week the past month or so and I think I'll start doing it more often. My hips feel so much better while I'm sleeping and the next morning.
Ugh, I had crazy back pain around 30 weeks... excruciating pain when I laid flat on the floor. I would do some cat/cow exercises (on all 4's, raising and lowering back) and used a heating pad for 5-10 minutes at night. It did eventually go away which I was so thankful for. Do you use a pillow in between your legs and one under your belly when you sleep? That has helped too
