NSAIFR: recommend a family friendly resort

My cousin works for Virgin America and gave us 3 round trip tickets to anywhere they fly that has to be used this year. We would really like to go to a beach destination and the two they fly to are Cabo and Cancun. I'm more open to Cabo since its a shorter flight for us since we're in CA but that being said I'm willing to go to Cancun if there's an awesome resort you all recommend.
We are planning to go the end of my maternity leave in Sept. I'll have a 3 year old and almost 3 month old.
We would love a resort with a nice pool and plenty of eating options close by or are open to all inclusive.

I haven't been to Cabo, nor have I been on a vacation since I've had a baby, so I'm not really any help.  But what an awesome gift!  I will be stalking your answers as I want to travel with the littles soon.  I hope you have an amazing trip!
