Toddler speak - silly question

My DS calls anything that happens in his diaper "poop" - so in an effort of correctness I have been attempting to teach him the difference between "poop" and "pee pee". Well, when it came to passing gas I thought that the word "toot" sounded too similar to "poop" and would further confuse him. So, for some VERY STUPID reason I taught my 18 month old the word FART. Except he says "farf". I'm now kind of regretting the word choice and wonder if y'all have any other verb-age - or if "toot" works just fine.

And please, please pardon me for this totally ridiculous question.

We use "pass gas".

Yeah I'm with PP. I don't think it's bad or wrong. We say toot because it's easier and it's just what we started to say.

We just say fart. And I can think of several times when DS has announced "I farted!" all to hear when we're in public. Gotta love kids!

one of the greatest phrases right now is "I farted!!"  Eva will even take credit for mommy and daddy sometimes...
