Weekly Check-In For The **Over 40** Crowd

This is a special weekly Thursday check-in for all of us who have crossed into our 40's. We all hang out on TTC after 35, but we all know that once you hit your fabulous 40's and are TTC it is just different.

There is a regular Weekly Check In on Wednesdays for all on this board, so feel free to post on both check-ins if you like. If you are completely new to the TTC after 35 board and haven't done a formal intro please do that before posting here!

1. Your Name and/or Screen Name (no full names) and the State you live in.

2. How long have you been TTC? Are you TTC #1, #2, #3, or more? And With Whom (spouse, b/g friend, partner, fiance, etc)?

3. What type of TTC are you doing? (IVF, IUI, Natural... etc)

4. Where are you in your cycle? If in the 2ww when will you test? (Waiting to O, 2WW, etc)

5. Weekly Vent - Go ahead, vent on one thing that is really irking you this week, promise you will feel better after.

Cry and pop a xanax? Seriously though I'm curious to see what others write and maybe I could try.

If I'm at work and it's work related I call a good friend who knows how psycho my boss can be. If I'm at home I usually go grab my cat and tell him my problems and give him big hugs

If it's IF usually fb group I'm in. Their comments usually distract me so I calm down and helps reduce my stress. I know pp always say to get out and do something physical like walk or exercise or write in a journal. IDK!! I'm a crier! No help from me!!!!

I'm not over 40, but DW is, so I guess we count anyway? You can throw me off if we don't, haha.

2. We haven't started to TTC for another baby yet, but it will be TTC #2 for me and TTC #3 for DW.
3. We're having IVF starting in May, but are probably going to have to use a surrogate.
4. We're waiting to have IVF.
5. Not really got anything to vent about.#

Not going to lie, the best way I stop being stressed if it's not IVF related is by having sex, if DW and I have a while alone. If sex is unavailable or it's IVF, I knit. I really wish I was joking. DW thinks it's hilarious.

@BeckyP005 I knit things for DD, now, so I get things done really quickly. When we were trying for DD, and whilst DW was pregnant, I literally knitted twenty one pairs of little boots for her and a bucket load of other stuff.

2. TTC Since Nov 2013, so cycle 4, but with RE cycle #1, with Fiance.

3.  In 2WW, test scheduled tomorrow (not holding my breath)

4. Clomid + Trigger + TI for this cycle, going IUI next cycle (if necessary - which I feel it will be)

5.  Vent - the patient who is apparently expecting #6 with at least the 3rd baby daddy.  And doesn't seem to be able to afford the ones she has.

NTA: Quitting my other job  Stress level really came down since then!

1) Samuelismomma , sally) ...2)11 months with losses..with re started dec 2013...3)ok to start clomid cycle in April....4)waiting to start af soon...5)couldn't try this cycle and since D&C was a bust for testing feel like these two months were wasted time:(..dr said if had natural mc could of tried right away...

5. I try not to let other’s bfp’s bug me, but seems like lately I’m super sensitive to them and there’s been quite a few. Perhaps it is because my birthday is right around the corner and that always makes me sad about not finding success yet and being another year older. This year I will be doing my stimm meds on my b-day, oh joy. We wanted to go away for a long weekend, but I don’t want the hassle of the refrigerated meds and how to keep them cold.

**Name That Action (NTA) ** Not sure I have an answer for this one. Sometimes I try deep breathing, sometimes a walk, or sometimes just talking with others. I do know one thing I try and make stressful times as short as possible as they are just no good for the mind and body.

Sorry to add for stress I usually do some form of excercise like walking...anything to aggressive actually can make you more stressed. And it like to listen to music:) and like @BeckyP005‌ a good cry;)

NTA - I find taking a long walk helps.  At first I am still reeling but after about 1/4 mile I start to get better and I finish at about a mile and I'm all good.

4. 2WW, my cycle has been irregular so I am going to wait until 28th day in my cycle bc I figure it's a good sign if I hadn't gotten AF by then (I've been more early then "on time" the past bunch of months)

5. I have actually come to despise where I'm working full time (I've never actually hated a place I've worked before) and I can't imagine going through a pregnancy there. I'm very close to resigning. Grrrrrrr

I use two different mindfulness techniques to thwart panic attacks and walking/hiking/elliptical is my regular stress reducer.

Thalia New York, 39 a mother of 6 older kids.. first month trying to have our last child. . I satrted off by doing a baking soda douche in my last day of AF..we used Pre-seed for every time we BD,I took Rubutussin only for the fertile week . fertile blend x 3 pills a day and I've been taking prenatal vitamins for 6 month now..hope i can get my BFP soon..

Honestly, I've search a lot of sites and read woman using it for trying to conceive and it has worked. .is my first time doing it. ..I just did it once my period ended..is supposed to try keep sperm surviving longer in vagina..cause sometimes it could be very alkaline and kill the swimmers faster before even making it to the uterus. .I've just read it a lot and thought to myself it won't kill me to try it..lol not even sure if it really helps or not..will see..lol
