Outraged!

Has anyone else heard about the little boy in North Carolina who was being bullied for bringing a my little pony bag to school? I cannot believe that the schools answer to the problem was to tell this kid he couldn't keep his backpack! Don't punish the bullies, just tell the kid to leave the bag at home because it's "triggering the bullies"! Insane!

Re: Outraged!

  • I couldn't believe it either. Glad to see the Mom is supporting her son and showing the world just how stupid the school is being.
This is being discussed on another board I hang out on and I couldn't believe the sexist comments I read about "girls toys" vs "boys toys" and how boys should be discouraged from "girl toys".

  • I agree it's sad! The school should not support it but I do right or wrong tend to steer my boys away from putting themselves in a position to be easily picked on.

  • The ignorance of people even in 2014 never ceases to amaze me.

  • Bullies aren't "triggered" they are taught. My daughter will learn a very hard life lesson if I ever hear of her bullying another child. Schools that let this stuff slide make me so angry. Why not take this as a teachable moment to teach these children tolerance that they will be expected to show in the real world as adults, rather than sweep it under the rug and blame the victim? And we wonder why the progress of humanity is so slow.
