1st Trimester

morning sickness

Hey everyone,
Does anyone have any remedies for morning sickness they want to pass along? I am a STM but I swore I was never this sick with my 1st. It hasn't been morning sickness, I mean all day sickness, nausea no matter what I eat or how often.  I have tired ginger candies, eating small meals, sour candy, exercise!  Also SUPER emotional already. I can't help but think I am only about 6 weeks, and if it's already this bad, I have a long road ahead of me!

Re: morning sickness

  • I was in that same boat from week 6-12. Seabands helped me lot. Ginger ale and saltine crackers are always good to try. If it's really bad, you can ask your OB for a prescription for anti nausea meds

  • I've been keeping peppermints with me.  You know, those really thick, almost chalky grandma peppermints?  Chewing minty gum works for me, too.

  • ZOFRAN!  If you have it this early, it will only get worse.  There's nothing wrong with getting some help from your dr.

  • This is going to sound odd but Apples. And the better part is homemade applesauce is SUPER easy! You can get microwave recipies online :)
  • I have been having fresh pineapple. It's awesome because it's juicy (helps with thirst) and not too sweet and healthy and filling. I highly recommend!
  • My doc's nurse just recommended taking 1/2 a Unisom tablet at night (but only the one that has doxylamin succinate in it), along with 25mg of B-6 daily.  Hopefully this will give me some relief.  She prescribed me some Zofran as well, but I'm hoping I can avoid taking that this early in the pregnancy (7 weeks).
