Man, I wish I could weed/prune over here, but the ground is still frozen solid. I'll have sooooo much yard work to do just when the baby shows up. I hope he/she likes hanging out outside with mom.
regarding the suggestion to have sex, it's really a two-fold benefit to your body: the orgasm on your part can help stimulate things and get the process going (not sure how, but i know there's something specific about the female orgasm) AND the prostaglandins in semen help ripen the cervix.
acupressure via a specifically done foot massage can hit trigger points in the soles of your feet too. i'd lump that in with the acupuncture suggestion.
orgasm helps trigger a flood of oxytocin which can help trigger contractions in pregnant women. During non-pregnant sex it helps to create that feeling of bonding or chemical love and you still have contractions (orgasm) on a smaller scale. As a bonus, the semen helps kick your cervix into gear sometimes.
prenatal massage with accupressure focus for those that find sex abhorrent at this point. If your body is close enough already it can get things to open up and get moving.
My husband hasn't wanted to have sex with me since, oh, 2013. Don't see that happening any time soon, alas, and my doctor said it's pretty much the only method that is proven to be somewhat useful.
only Loved it because that's me!!! Though I'm not complaining, it hurts too much atm!

I got a prenatal massage yesterday and asked the therapist if the acupressure was true. She said no, not at all. That means wearing shoes that rub against your ankle would stimulate contractions and women would be popping out babies everywhere. When women get acupressure to induce labor it's usually in the last weeks of pregnancy anyway so the stories are anecdotal. Sex and nipple stimulation are the only proven methods, and ONLY when your body is ready! And you have to apparently play with your nips for an hour or two a day. Which you could do while sitting at your desk just to freak your coworkers out!
I just had my induction date set to the 30th due to pregnancy induced high blood pressure so I'll be trying these this week to try and get going on my own!
Well sex is definitely out (hubby is weirded out by baby being in there too!). I have some red raspberry leaf tea and have been going for long walk/hikes with my dog daily. I am pretty crampy today so here's hoping it's working. I've also heard that red wine and spicy food helps as well as acupuncture and acupressure. The foot point is apparently very painful and has to be held for quite some time.
I had enchiladas for dinner yesterday (not too spicy), had sex with DH, took a 40 minute brisk walk today, and just ate loads of pineapple. Let's get this party started!
