Poll: When does/did your LO nap

So DD2 has pretty much been a terrible sleeper from week 3 on to the present.  While I feel like we might finally be finding a groove, I don't feel like she is a rested as she should be.  So, when do (did if they don't anymore) your LOs nap and for how long?  She dropped to one nap around 10 months.  The challenge we run in to is I think her natural nap pattern would be when we have to go get DD1 from school.  DD1 was a much better sleeper and I think some of that is because she set the schedule for the most part - DD2 doesn't have that luxury.

  • At that age, they were taking a small 1/2 hr - 45 minute nap int he morning and then a 3 hour nap in the afternoon, usually from 1-4

I am having that problem with DD2 and school pickup for DS.  He is picked up at 2, and I feel like DD2 wants to nap at 1.  Right now she will nap in her infant seat, so if she gets fussy I put her in the seat.  Sometimes she falls asleep, but I can just grab the seat and go to pick up DS.  Then when we get back I just put the seat in her room.  Not ideal, obviously, but I am hoping we can do this until school is out

  • She took 2 per day until about 16 months old. She'd wake up at 6:00 am, nap from 9:00-11:00, nap again from 2:00-3:00, and then go to bed at 7:00 pm.
Now she sleeps until 7:00 am, naps from 12:30-2:30/3:30ish and then is in bed at 7:30 pm (sometimes she falls asleep right away, other night she'll play for an hour or more before finally quieting down).

  • It's all a mess over here. :((
I have been super lazy mommy and just letting him nap whenever he fell asleep in his car seat and not sticking to any kind of schedule. We've been doing this for months and he will nap at least 90min to 2 hours. So DH and I concocted this nap-training plan where I stick to a routine and put him in his bed from 1-3 everyday. He get up at 7, so I think 6 hours awake, 2 hour nap, and five hours til bedtime splits the day on half nicely.
I don't know. He's still thumping around up there. We'll see if this works.
All I know is, he can't sleep in the car in summer, pregnant mommy needs a nap too, and I gotta get this sht figured out before he learns how to open his bedroom door.

  • When she is sick.

DD3 is almost 4, so naps stopped at Christmas.  My other two were done before 3.
  • DS dropped to one nap shortly before one. Now he is two and naps between 12:30/1-2:30/3. He goes to bed between 8-8:30 and gets up around 7:30.

  • DS went to one nap shortly after he turned one, I think 14 months is when he started every day only needing one nap.  The time keeps fluctuating.  If we go somewhere in the morning, he naps about 12/1230 for 2-3 hours.  If we don't go somewhere he goes down at 1030/11 for 2-3 hours.  He gets up at 7 and goes to bed at 8.

  • Owen's 16mos. He usually naps around midday and then early evening. He sometimes takes a short nap later in the evening because he doesn't go down for the night until late.
  • My boys are 3.5 and 1.5.  Both of them dropped down to 1 nap at 9 months.  They love to take 3+ hour naps.  DS1 used to take a nap 3-4 times a week but now that he's in a toddler bed he only naps like once a week.  DS2 naps almost every day.  It's usually about 30 minutes after lunch, around 1PM ish.

  • DD is a 14 months old, she still naps in the morning half the time, and in the afternoon always.  If she naps in the morning it's usually at 10am, for about an hour. Then she and my 3 year old both go down between 1 and 2pm, for 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

  • Some days mine will take one long nap at noonish (b/c they've fought their morning nap) but for the most part they still nap twice a day....usually 9-10:30ish and then 2-4ish. Bedtime is 7 or 7:30 (trying to move it to 8) and they wake up at 6:55 like clockwork. :-P

  • we've been on 1 nap for awhile now.  I honestly don't remember when she dropped down to 1.  it varies between 1-3 hours.  She had 3 hours today which was lovely.
