Another work related bitch

Not me, but DH. In December he took a position with another restaurant as a general manager. This means his 45 minute commute (one way) would change to 5 minutes and his quality of life would increase exponentially (60 hr work week, changing to 45 hr work week). So, due to these perks, he agreed to $5k less in his annual salary, because we figured it would balance out because of him not having to commute.

So, he went through an asinine and brutal 2 month training, 45 minutes from where we live. We got through it with the end goal in mind. So, he has a meeting with his boss, where he is told that they are waiting on a store to open for him. He took this job with the agreement that he was being hired to manage the store 5 minutes from home. Now God only knows where they will put him, but it will be a minimum of a 30 minute commute one way. I am pissed !! How can they hire him in to work somewhere, then completely change the location and not even discuss it with him ???

Sorry, posted before I was done...I would be mad too, but unfortunately I have seen it happen a lot. He can complain, talk to the hiring managers, etc, but not knowing if a contract exists, there is little he can do.

Yeah, I'm not sure if there was a formal contract when the job was offered. It's just aggravating. DH doesn't speak up in these situations either...he tends to be a corporate doormat.
