Just found out we're expecting TWINS!

Hello! My husband and I just found out after years of IF that we're expecting twins!! We are over the moon but at the same time, I am so scared. I am more scared that my body will cooperate. I am fairly small 5'3 and about 115lbs.  Would anyone be willing to share their journey/experience and maybe ease my fears a little? I know two people that have had twins and both of them carried to at least 34 weeks but they both have a bigger build and they are telling me that it might be harder for me.

Congrats! I'm also 5'3 and was 115 pounds pre-pregnancy (still trying to lose those last 10). I gained 40 pounds and delivered at almost 38 weeks via scheduled c-section. It's definitely possible to be short and have a healthy multiples pregnancy.

@ashb62 & @SV917, thank you so much.I have been stressing about it. They told me to kiss my body goodbye, that i would have a kangaroo pouch of extra skin after, too. Talk about brutal honesty!

Congratulations! It's a scary journey but your body will know what to do.  I also went years with IF, this is my 3rd pregnancy we will be adding 2 girls to our boys (6) and (3).  I am 21 wks and really starting to slow down but my Dr. keeps assuring me that my body will be able to handle this.

Please don't listen to people saying you will have a harder time than a bigger person! This is so untrue. Many, many MoMs on here are TINY and their bodies handled the twin pregnancy beautifully! Listen to your body, it will do what it's supposed to do. Like so many of our friends on here say... "Today I am pregnant, and today everything is fine." Congratulations!

Thank you all so much! I feel so blessed that God let me have these two little beans with their beating hearts! The nausea at this point is so hard that I force myself to eat but I will do whatever I can.

I had really severe morning sickness until around 14wks.  Even at 21 wks I have to force myself to eat.  Other multiple moms I know said they lived off of smoothies and milkshakes.  That helps me get my calories.

I'm 5' 4" and was 108 pre pregnancy. I carried to 34 weeks with a quick and easy vaginal delivery but not because they couldn't fit. I would have gone to term but we had an issue with the placenta to baby b. Most people were shocked when I told them it was twins because my bump was so small but I have chubby little babies. Don't worry they will find a way to fit! Congrats!

I'm 5'7" (though I have a short torso) so I can't really help with the petite factor but I hope all goes smoothly for you!

Congrats and welcome! I am 5'1 and was 120 before getting prego this time. I sometimes wonder how long my body will last (I'm 30w 4d now , measuring 37 weeks last week) but I carried DD to 40w 5d so I know what it's capable of. I don't think size has anything to do with it. Everyone kept telling me I would go early with DD but that didn't happen. Just remember that every person handles pregnancy differently and every pregnancy is different. But I totally understand your concerns.

Congratulations! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow with twins and yes, the nausea has been rough! I've had to force myself to eat at times too (was the worst at weeks 5-8). It does get better eventually and don't be afraid to ask for help from your OB if you can't keep anything down.

I'm smaller than you are and was able to carry mine to 37wks. We had some complications and bed rest but my size didn't cause any issues. They were both over 6lbs when born

Congratulations!! Twins are scary, but you'll get used to the idea. I'm also about 5'1" with a short torso and I feel like I'm doing okay so far at 26w 6d. You'll be fine!!

Congrats and welcome! Two twin moms on my other BMB were your size and carried theirs to full term. I'm 5'3 and 120 so I have similar same fears but with DD I went to 40w3d with no issues!

Congratulations!!!  I went through IF and IVF for my twins as well.  I'm 5'3" and 118 lbs and carried my twins to 38 weeks, no bedrest.

I'm 5'4" (not 110'lbs though), I was about 135lbs. I gained about 45lbs - really all belly & went into labor 4 days before my scheduled c section - I was 37w3days when I went into labor. Just try to stay positive!! Congrats!

I am barely 5'2" and was 118 pounds Pre pregnancy. I carried my twins Until my scheduled csection at 38wks and 1 day! No bedrest! It's crazy what your body can do! I was huge!!! I gained 40lbs and it was all belly! You can do it! Congrats and good luck!

Im barely 5 ft (barely) and i had my boys at 37 wks and 4 days! People said i couldnt do it but i did! My boys were 6 lb 13.5 oz and 6 lb 15 oz! Congrats and good luck!
