TTC after 35

Is it possible I could be pregnant with sticky cm?

It's 6 days after ovulation and my cervical mucus is very thick and sticky. Could I be pregnant, or is my body just gearing up for my period?

  • It's impossible to predict pregnancy based on any symptoms, as PMS and pregnancy symptoms can be exactly the same.  I've had every possible symptom under the sun between ovulation and period, and am still not pregnant.  Also, implantation doesn't happen until 7-10 DPO, so today would be way too early for any true pregnancy symptoms.  It sounds like you really need to learn how your body/reproduction works, I'd highly recommend getting an account with Fertility Friend and doing the free tutorials there - not only can you learn about how to take your temp and chart your cycles, you'll learn a ton about how TTC and your body really work.

Lastly, if you have enough pregnancy hormones to cause true pregnancy symptoms, that means you'd also have enough pregnancy hormones to turn a test positive.  HPTs detect very low levels of pregnancy hormone, way less than are needed to start causing symptoms.  So, if you really think you might be pregnant, take a test.  If your symptoms are pregnancy related, then your test would come out positive.  If you get a negative test, whatever symptoms you're experiencing aren't pregnancy related.
