Cloth Diapering

What's your OS cover for 15lb+?

I need a couple new covers, I've been leaning towards some RaR OS covers but only because the only other new covers I've bought are newborn RaR and they never leaked or failed me.  I have some used Motherease covers that aren't cute but are functional for the toddler age.

What's your fav OS cover? DS is somewhat chunky in leg and waist.  He's close to 15lb so I don't need something that fits too small.  I'm hoping to stay economical (hence the OS), but quality is important too since I'm hoping it will last for another baby after DS2.

  • I prefer RaR with aplix. I have one in snaps and I don't like it as much.

    Blueberry coveralls.

    Flips are aight too.

I also like ecobum covers, to keep cost down.

  • Flip fit my chunky guy well. Blueberry are alright, but I prefer the fit of the flip better.

  • I have Blueberry Coveralls, Flip, and Thirsties Duo size 2 covers for my chunker. I do not like Flips, at all. They barely cover most things for me and have no double gussets. Thirsties are good, a tried and true favorite. Not the best for bulky fitteds though. Blueberry Coveralls are by far my favorite. I use mostly aplix (which is awesome). However, they fit great, cover all my various dipes well, and have double gussets. Plus they'll last you the longest.

  • RaR have a really short rise, so keep that in mind if your LO is trending on the higher %-iles for height. Otherwise, they are great.

Flips are okay, but I was not impressed with their leg elastic. It stretches out more than other covers and is hard to replace. So maybe not a great choice if you have a chubster and want to use the covers with another LO (especially if that future LO ends up being skinnier). I would definitely not pay full price for them if you decide to go with them.

Blueberry Coverall are very full cut, so nice for bulky overnight diapers, but I sometimes find them too roomy on my 31 lb 2 year old. I prefer the fit of Thirsties Duo size 2 - it's not really marketed as a one size cover, but I find the fit comparable to the Blueberry, except trimmer (but definitely roomy enough for a chunky baby).

  • Flip I don't like double gussets though so the flips are one of the few that fit well.

  • Thanks ladies.  My local CD store sells all of the above so this is good info to have.  DS2 is a heavy wetter so his fitteds tend to be a bit bulky.
