31 wks and feeling like ill never work up until due date!

I bend over all day (orthodontic assistant) and it feels like baby's being crushed in half or stuck wayy up in my ribs! it hasn't been hard besides low back pains until this week it's suddenly AWFUL working. anybody having issues at work at this time? I feel like it's too early to be this uncomfortable! I feel like 9 moreweeks seems like a century right about now

  • I'm really feeling it the last week or so. I'm an early elementary music teacher, so I'm all over the building dropping off/picking up my classes, dancing, standing all day and tying shoes/zipping coats/doing things low down for little people.

I'm moving so slow, haha. The next 6 weeks are going to drag!

  • Yup. I told my Vice Principal yesterday I didn't think I was gonna make it to the May 2nd date I originally told them...
  • At 32 weeks now: I feel much slower and starting to feel rib kicks. Not so pleasant! The discomfort happened overnight it feels like

Honestly I don't know how you ladies do it who have to work on your feet in any kind of physical capacity. I sit in an office chair all day long and I can barely handle that, my back is aching and I'm completely exhausted by noon. As it is I don't know how I'm going to make it to my EDD. 46 days is feeling like a longgg time..
  • I started getting abdominal pain after bending over to sweep some stuff into a dust pan this week. I just need to remember to squat instead of bend. It is definitely getting uncomfortable and when the back pain starts up (which is usually while I am in the middle of raking or shoveling) it sucks big time, but I am still going to try and power through as long as possible.
  • Hair stylist here. On my feet all damn day with 8 weeks to go. Kill me. You should see my swollen feet. It's horrid.
  • Ugh sitting is the worst for me. My ribs KILL me. Apparently my uterus is hitting nerves in my ribs according to OB. All I know is its excruciating. 2 hours into my 8 hour work day I want to cry. Only 10 more weeks. Sigh.
  • I was teaching elementary and didnt make it! I'm on strict bed rest and this is the best I've felt in a while...unless I get up and try to do something!

  • Im 33 weeks, restaurant mgr. , I was trying to make it to April 15th, but I'm now thinking I may be done end of March.
  • I've got 3.5 weeks left and I'm struggling so bad. I work a desk job, but my discomfort is pretty much permanent. I just keep ticking off the days!

  • I'm starting my leave much earlier than I had planned -- at the end of this week. I just can't handle the stress and discomfort anymore! If you can afford it, maybe talk to your boss about taking some additional unpaid leave? Sorry you are so uncomfortable!

  • I can totally relate. For me the issue is that I sit at a desk all day, so my swollen feet/ankle problem has been greatly exacerbated. I also have an hour commute which is exhausting me (and also means more time sitting). I try to take walks and prop my feet up but it only does so much. I want to go out at 37 weeks either way, but am trying to figure out when my doctor will sign me out to see how much PTO to use. My boss keeps trying to convince me to stay until closer to my due date. But 1) She worked until 42 weeks and the baby practically fell out in the office, which is not my style at all, and 2) If I'm using my own PTO to extend my leave, who cares? I've earned the time, I've been here for 8.5 years!

    Baby #2 due 4/26/16!

  • I'm kind of glad to read this, honestly. 34 weeks with #3 and I'm definitely not going make it to my due date. I made before with both pregnancies, but it's not happening this time. Hoping my ob will write me out at 36-37 weeks.

  • By the title I feel like I could of wrote this topic lol. I am also 31 weeks and I work as a nursing assistant so lots of bending walking and lifting. My coworkers don't seem like it's a big deal for me to do more of the work then them while they sit. Ugh I've really had it but want the full 12 weeks off with my baby
  • I am a special education teacher and constantly up and all over the place! I have definitely noticed a big change in comfort this week. Depends on the day and where the baby is, but I agree the next 9 weeks are going to be interesting..

  • oh boy there's a lot of us glad to know were all feeling the same! people at work kept asking me if I was ok all day I'm like yaaaaah? i wanted to complain but I didn't ....
  • I can totally relate. I'm a nurse and on my feet all day. I plan to work up until due date but seriously struggling!! I will tell you all I have found something that is at least helping me tremendously for now. Swimming!! DH and I belong to a gym with Indoor pool and I've been doing kick board laps for about 30 mins few times a week and then get in a heated therapy pool (not a hot tub- this one is just heated less than even bath water).
It truly has been a life saver! It has helped my swelling in feet and hands also majorly!! I honestly look forward to it so much. Even when I have no energy I just basically float on kickboard from one end of pool to the other. Ha.
Other than swimming I've just been taking it day by day. Plus I really just don't have a choice. I unfortunately don't have paid maternity leave so I'm working as long as possible!!!! Best of luck!!

  • I totally feel you.  I am 31 weeks and the commute is beyond exhausting.  I am working from home tomorrow just to give my body a break.  I will work up until I birth this kid....just have to figure out a way to do it!
