sick kiddo in the hospital

Matthew has a cellulitis infection in his foot. We've been here since yesterday and probably won't be home until Thursday at the earliest. His foot is pretty nasty looking still and he can't put pressure on it. He's not complaining and is happily laying in bed playing video games. He's getting iv meds every 8 hours and enjoying the food here.

Re: sick kiddo in the hospital

  • Aw poor kid. P has had cellulitis a couple of times from MRSA accesses. Knock on wood she's never had to be inpatient for it, but it always happens so fast. She can have a small pimple in the morning and then a few hours later cellulitis so they lance it and give her drugs ASAP.
Hoping you guys get out soon and he heals well!

  • We got home last last night. Now on to the next sick kid. The biggest is having surgery next week. :(
  • He has a cyst in his mouth that needs removed. It was supposed to this summer and then he got hit in the face with a football during football practice. Stitches in the eye lid are no fun. Eye doctor called oral surgeon who agreed to wait until his eye was healed to do the other surgery.
