So I've been doing a lot of research and reading and trying to get a grip on what I should be doing now to prepare for TTC starting in May (there's a lot of information out there!!!) My pre-conception appt with my Dr. is tomorrow and I have a list of questions I need to ask and info to share, so I think I've got that ready. I'm off coffee (except for a cup or 2 of decaf on the weekends) and I'm working on getting my body in better shape and eating healthier.
I'm curious about the next steps for me like getting off BC and charting. I've been thinking that I may try to get off BC when I'm done with this months prescription (in about 3 weeks) and starting to chart and just TTA until May when we officially want to start TTC. I've been taking my BC for so long that I think it may linger in my body for awhile so I think I should try to stop it earlier rather than later. I tried charting back around 2009 I think and I used FF, so I think I've got a little of the basics down, but I'd love any additional info and tips you can share regarding the next step.

Re: Tips for a Newbie...
The other thing I'd suggest is not to count on the BC lingering in your system if you don't want to get pg right away. It can, but some people are more fertile right after they get off the pill. I conceived DD in my 3rd cycle off the pill. It's taking longer this time, and although it might just be because I'm older, there might really be a post-pill fertility surge that's worth taking advantage of.
Good luck!

If you don't think you're up to date on your immunizations, I think it can't hurt to see your doc. I never used to get a flu shot, then after I found out I was pregnant for the first time, I went to my doc to get one. Even though they say it's safe and even recommended for pregnant women, I was nervous and wished I had gotten it before (even though I did the exact same thing with my second pregnancy and didn't get one until after I found out!)
BFP #1: 12/05/2012; EDD 08/09/2013; MC 01/2013 (missed, D&C)

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

@indianaalum, that's great advice. My doc told me not to "bother" with charting because unless you are perfect at it, it's highly inaccurate. I don't remember it being inacurate when I previously charted, and I figure it couldn't hurt.
She recommended, if I so desired, to get an ovulation kit and do that for three months to verify that I am indeed ovulating and get a better idea of when I do. She said the same thing about seeing her in 6 months if, with an ovulation kit, I do not concieve within 6 months.
