Anyone from Orlando? Have a question...disney world

DH and I have finally thought the girls are old enough to go to disney world.

So I am wondering how is the weather in September and November.

I am torn on when to go, we won't to go when there are low crowds but want the weather to still be nice. I would love to be able to take them to the pool but am worried that November won't be warm enough to do that.

any input?

thanks!

Whether or not you will want to swim will depend largely on where you are from. Tourists can find the weather suitable to swim nearly all year long. Floridians typically don't like to swim until the pools reach the temperature of bath water. When we had new neighbors from CO move in to the area and they used their pool year round our native FL neighbors thought they were crazy, but the pool temperature really wasn't much different than the temperature it is in Upstate during the summer so it probably wasn't cold to them. You can definitely swim in September, in fact, it may be really hot yet. There were times we went to the parks in September and it was great weather and others it was much too hot. November will be nice for parks, but too cold for native FL to swim. The pools and water parks should be open though and tourists will be found at them (the water parks do close in the winter for a few weeks for repair, but it is around Christmas, if I recall correctly. We moved out of FL a couple years ago. If I was traveling back for a Disney vacation I would probably go in November if I had to choose between the two - better weather for the parks and all the decorations.

  • I would go in November and you will most likely be able to swim.  I went in December and there were kids swimming and the water parks were open.  Crowds are on the lower side as long as you avoid holidays.  The first or second week of November would be lovely!
  • If you go in November it needs to be during the first 2 weeks. The last 2 weeks in November are typically busy because of people traveling during Thanksgiving, but the first 2 weeks are some of the slowest all year. We went in December one year and wore jeans & short sleeves.

September isn't too crowded but it is still pretty hot during September. If you really want to do water rides you may want to go then because you dry faster, but otherwise I'd pick November. Also, in the summer months in Orlando you can expect afternoon showers pretty much every day.
  • We did our honeymoon at Disney the second week in November a few years ago.  The weather was beautiful.  Just needed long sleeves after the sun went down.  We didn't swim but it would have been possible.

Going in early November will put you there for the food and wine festival at Epcot which is a fun day for the grownups and will give you a break from all the kiddy stuff.
