Success blocking sun from rear window?

DS is 13 months old. Ever since we moved to the convertible car seat the sun has been a problem. I tried a baseball hat but he pulls it off. With winter I've had to use the rear window defrosters so that isn't a good option for the cling-on screens. As he'll be RF for the next year I really need to find a solution. Does anyone have tips or recommend a particular product the worked well for your LO? TIA!

Re: Success blocking sun from rear window?

  • DS has sunglasses that he loves. He learned to put them on pretty early and now asks for them if it is bright. I am not sure he could put them on at 13 months, but I would put them on for him if it was a bad time of day. Of course, if your DS won't wear a hat, he may not like the sunglasses either.

  • I had the same issue, but the window shades were not working well for us. So I took my car and got the back windows tinted dark, and it does help a lot and I don't have to bother with those cling on shades or anything. Other than that my kids have sunglasses and/or hats.

  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
  • I ended up getting my windows tinted. it was the best $200 I have ever spent. my daughter no longer screams in the car on our way home from daycare. it might be worth looking into.
