XP: Placenta Previa at 25 Weeks?

Does anyone have any experience with placenta previa at 25 weeks?  I was diagnosed with marginal previa at 19 weeks and at my 25 week appointment, it had moved to a complete. Anyone know the odds of it moving out of the way?  My doctor didn't say much other than he will check it again in two weeks.  If it's still a previa he said we would discuss it more at that point. He has not put me on any restrictions or anything of that nature.   At this point, I'm trying to make a list of questions to ask him next week and do a little research.  Anything I should be prepared for?  I haven't had any bleeding so far.  If you've had bleeding, when did it start?  I've seen suggestions on some websites suggesting that I pack an emergency bag.  If you did this (or wish you did) what would you have put in it?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

  • I agree with PP, I'd imagine you should be on pelvic rest. I can't help otherwise, I had a marginal that cleared up.

I had complete previa diagnosed at 19 weeks. I was put on pelvic rest and went in for ultrasounds every 4 weeks to check on it. I had a bleed at 31 weeks and was then put on bed rest until 36 weeks when my daughter was born via c section. I was in the very small percent whose previa didn't move. Good news was that my daughter was small but perfect. She didn't need any NICU time and came home with us 3 days after she was born. Good luck to you!

  • Thanks everyone!  I appreciate the advice, I am going to put myself on pelvic rest and talk to the doc more next week.  Now that I've had time to do research I have a lot more questions.
