Baby Names

Any opinions on this baby girl name?

So after thinking very hard on a name my husband and i decided on the name Adelynn Haley .. Haley will be after my grandfather. Whatcha think? I didn't want a name that's too common. I wanted a strong name that sounds dainty but won't go out of style.

  • I think it sounds pretty and pairs nicely with Haley. Adelyn is a pretty popular name right now, though, and will probably be associated with this time period for some time to come. It may not be the right choice if you want an uncommon and timeless name.

  • Agree with pp that this is a very popular name right now...I can think of at least 6 off the top of my head. If you like it, please consider Adelyn...if you choose Adeline it is pronounced different IMO. Good luck!
  • Trendy in any form of spelling, but cute!

  • I don't like Adelynn, but I like Haley
  • I don't mind it but I think it will get lumped into all the Addy names of the 2000's 2010s. I prefer it spelled with one N but I actually prefer a more classic name like Adelaide
  • I don't love the spelling but the name sounds pretty.

Adelyn(n) is very popular and trendy right now, so I think it will end up being more common. It may also seem dated, as there's a huge trend now with names ending in -lyn(n). I like Adeline Haley, though. I think the spelling looks prettier and more timeless/classic.
This exactly. I think the double N is not as feminine and will be dated at some point. Also, people will misspell her name.

  • I'd go with Adeline, personally, if you were set on an Addy name. Much more classic and classy.

I agree that if you're going for timeless, this isn't it. Addys and also -lynns are very popular right now.
How about Adele, Adelaide or Evelyn?
    I do really like Hailey.

  • yeah definitely super trendy right now. The -lynn ending isn't what I'd consider timeless.

If you want more classic, I'd go with Adeline.

If you want less popular, I'd suggest:
    Alice
    Caroline
    Matilda
    Willa
    Helene
    Angeline

  • Thanks everyone for your responses. I guess I thought it wasn't that common. I live in nj and I have not heard the name used much here. I do like the idea of spelling it like Adelyn instead of Adelynn.

  • I like Adelyn and have not heard it where I live. I know it is popular other places though.
