We need to purchase a new washer and dryer today but am wondering if a high efficiency one works. I am having a hard time finding the standard ones. What do you ladies have and what would you purchase?
I was happy with my Whirlpool Duet before we moved.
Now we have a Bosch Maxx 5 and it works pretty well too. Just wish it was bigger.
My one complaint with HE washers is the cycles can take a really long time compared to conventional washers. But once you know how long your cycles take you can plan around that.
If I ever buy another washer, I would get an HE top load. I can't wash pillows in mine without it saying its unbalanced and shutting off. So I have soaked pillows full of soap I can't get rinsed and spun. I have a FL right now.
If water wasn't an object I would probably get a traditional for doing diapers and keep it in the basement because I feel like the extra water helps with really messy stuff. But our water bills are insanely high even with all energy efficient/HE appliances. I love our Samsung HE FL though. Gets everything clean and has a "quick wash cycle" that cleans in 21 minutes for our everyday stuff.
Thanks everyone! I went with an LG top HE too loader.
We have one of these, have had it a few months. It works well. My CD cycle takes nearly 3 hours in the washer, but I like that I can program that cycle in one go and walk away. Alternatively I like that my regular clothes come clean in a 'quick clean' cycle that is only 35 minutes.
