Trying Not to Spaz

My doctor's office has a page where patients can check their labs.  I had labs drawn yesterday (Friday) morning, and so I decided to check them since otherwise I probably wouldn't hear until Monday and I had issues with my cycle/hormones prior to pregnancy which made me more concerned about my pregnancy levels.  My progesterone is10.53.

I know this question has been asked like a thousand times, but most answers I find are from women a little further along in their pregnancy-at least 5 weeks, and all of these women are being supplemented at this level.  Has anyone had a level close to this at around 4 weeks?  If so, did your doctor put you on supplements?  I'm planning to talk to my doctor about it, but I wasn't sure if I should just wait until Monday or call the on-call number tomorrow.  I know I'm probably just worrying for nothing, but I guess I'm having a hard time being rational right now.  Feel free to tell me I'm being ridiculous if I am!

Re: Trying Not to Spaz

  • You can check what my levels were in my siggy. I would just wait until Monday unless you're really anxious about it. Peace of mind never hurt. It wouldn't surprise me if they put you on supplements.

  • With my last one mine were at 11 at around 4.5 weeks and my doctor supplemented me. A word about that, though: My doctor only supplemented me because I asked her to, she wouldn't have done it otherwise. Some OBs are not totally convinced on the connection between low progesterone and spotting or early miscarriage. I thought it was really normal to get supplements at that level from being on here, but apparently it's one of those things that is not totally proven for some docs. Personally, I would rather supplement than not. If I were you I might call the on-call and see if they'd call the scrip in for me. If they can't/won't, I'd call first thing Monday.

  • @divinemsbee-thank you!  I did call the on-call doctor and mentioned the supplement.  They put me on the cream.  My beta was only 57 at 15 dpo, and is up to 131 today at 17 dpo.  I don't know if they'll redraw my progesterone level or not, but I feel like the cream is helping, because I haven't had as much brown spotting today as I had before I started the supplement.  I'm feeling more optimistic on the supplement.
