Weight Loss Check-in: tracking

The time change has really messed me up and for the first time in a month, I skipped my workout this morning.  I'm not seeing the results I want. I'm frustrated and I'm tired! So my 5 am workout got missed this morning. I need a reality check AND I need to remember all the things I learned about losing weight before I got pregnant with J.  One of the biggest ones that I always forget is to look at progress beyond the number beyond the scale.  Do I feel better? Am I less moody? Do my clothes feel less tight?
I read a blog once about a woman who weighed the same as she did 30 days prior to starting her workouts but took pictures of herself along the way.  The transformation is astonishing and the scale's numbers are not.  I wish I could find it again but I can't (and I have Colony Project Papers to grade, so I need to get on with it).

How much have you lost this week?
How much total?
How much do you want to lose?
Did you have any hurdles this week to overcome?
How do you track your weight loss other than the numbers on the scale?

No, it was a pretty good week.

Points plus diary is an app on my phone.  When I lose weight, I have fewer points and have to rebudget my food.  Also clothing size.

  • I haven't even stepped on the scale in quite some time. I'm basically hokey with how my body looks overall except for my stomach . I also lost most of my muscle tone. I just started doing planks again. I figured it's at least a start.

  • I've been hiding from this check in for the past few weeks. I've had gained everything I lost and then some really suddenly since mid January when AF returned. I finally was tired of feeling like crap and I went to a new doctor. She did a full work up and I found out my thyroid is all out of whack, I'm anemic, vitamin D deficient, and my metabolic rate is almost non existent. I'm starting on some serious meds on Monday. I'm weaning off the pump this week because I can't nurse on this medication. I'm ok with that, I've felt so badly that it's not worth it. I have enough pumped milk to where he will get at least one bottle for the next month or so. Hopefully I can come back to this thread and actually be if able to participate. Congrats to all the mamas who are doing so well.
  • @emmy236 soooo glad you got something figured out!!!! I've had those things checked lots of times because doctors are really frustrated that I can have the diet that I have and work out as much as I do and only lose small amounts of weight.  I'm glad they found something that you can work with!!! AND so glad you'll be able to join us again!
